Down Stream Problems

I just returned to 2 stepping my fleet accounts. I've got a few old downstream injectors and I've tried them all. I am having mixed results with the draw rate. I have an 8gpm 3500psi hot water skid with 200' of hose. My wand of choice is a straight gun (no angle) with 4ft' insulated lance and a flex head. With the low pressure chem QC nozzle, I get only minimal chemical suction. When I switch to a "normal" gun (110-ish degree angle) with no lance, just the QC low pressure chem nozzle, I get great chemical suction.
I don't want to be that close to these chemicals...
Any suggestions or explanations as to why the lance gets no chemical suction?

You refer to a "flex head". Is it the ST330 adjustable nozzle holder? If so, chances are likely that the passages in the swivel are causing too much back pressure in the line, causing the downstreamer to not work.

Thanks Russ! The flex head is one of the heads that can be adjusted into an arc (like a gutter cleaner). We use it for hood cleaning and have become addicted. I'll try our bent lance. Hopefully that will offset the angle of spray without the back pressure.

It is a different gun. The lance has a straight gun with inlet and outlet inline. Without the lance, I use a typical gun with the 110 degree angle or so.

We removed the flex head and got much better results. Not as good as the gun w/o lance, but much better. We will keep playing with different setups.

Its prob. ur gun i think the straight guns are like an 8gpm max get one thats 12gpm max
