WOULD YOU USE DOOR HANGERS

I had terrible luck with doorhangers. Got run out of several nieghborhoods. Most subdivisions around here have soliciting bans. I did my own website on microsoft office live for $15 a year, and bought a logo program from best buy for $20, neither is as nice as what professionals like kbk can do but what the heck.

Who ran you out of the neighborhoods???? If it was the people I wouldn't leave ...If it was the Police have them show you the law where placing a door hanger is Soliciting or against the law, if he can't ask for his supervisor to come to the scene if he refuses call 911 ask the dispatcher send a supervisor. In alot of cases they will side with a homeowner you might wanna push the subject but be nice about it. By asking for a supervisor they know you you mean business and let them know you are willing to pursue this higher. Cops are smart they use intimidation to get their point across .........know the law and carry proof of it Ask them to show you the law ..... Most cases the city has to have a ordinance to make that a law. Then if it is you should be able to buy a licence. Here you can hang door hangers according to the city you just cant sell a product without a licence. They consider a service different than a product. It really comes down to what the city has adopted and who you talk to on the phone from the city ......Get names and recorded the phone call if possible if its legal in your state.
Remember the ones that complain about hanging stuff on a door might not actually be your best customer anyway. I know I don't want that type of customer.....Mine is the kind that offers me a water bottle after the job is done ...........
 
I have used door hangers, I passed out 5000 and i got jobs on about 1.5% you can used word to make your own and it saves a ton of money. 5000 cost 350.00 if you make your own and down load it to a online printing company.
 
never tried door hangers yet, have used flyers in the past but I am looking to switch to door hangers for a more professional look

I picked up a 1 1/2" hole punch from my local hobby store to take the diy approach. walmart sells card stock and i've found color copies here for .19 per side. I'm leaning towards 5x8's vs. 3.83x8's - for larger pictures

You can get 5000 from gotprint for $340, color both sides.

I voted yes. This is how door hangers work for me. When my guys are done with a driveway in a neighborhood I make them drive around to a minimum of 3 houses in that area that need a cleaning and leave the door hangers. I have 1 sided door hangers and I have my guys write on the blank side say we did Mr So and So's driveway down the road and will give you a 25% discount if you call in this week. Then I have them hang the door hanger on the blank hand written side. People think they are receiving a message from their neighbors or something and actually look at the hanger. I prob get 1 call every month off them.

I have also hired a service to distribute them out in bulk. Didn't work that great, but definitely made my monies worth.

Ty how many ttimes did the service distribute them to the same houses.
