Does bleach harm exterior paint?

I've recently in the past several years have cleaned a lot of stucco/dryvitt homes. I've kept a close eye on them & I can't really see any harm to the paint. I just got a bid for a 3 story 36000 sqft stucco hotel. My question, does bleach have a negative long term effect on paint?

A significant percentage of my business is cleaning Dryvit, so I can tell you that Dryvit is not usually painted. The color is in the mortar mixture. Occasionally, you may encounter painted Dryvit. The way to tell if it painted, is if the "nooks and crannies" are crisp, or look filled in. In either event, the bleach will not harm it. As always, rinse, rinse, rinse.

Thanks --- I felt the same way, but do to my limited exposure to dryvitt, and the size of the job (Liability) - just wanted to get another view.

What about stucco ---------- I believe stucco is different?????

The same for stucco. The way to tell the difference between stucco and Dryvit : knock on it. If it sounds hollow, its Dryvit.

Dryvit is simply a skim-coat of mortar over an inch or so of styrofoam. With that in mind, use as little pressure as possible. Never more than 700 psi or so.

Thanks John. I wish you a good summer and year. The season is about to break open.
