Is there a guide that would explain proceedurers for different types of jobs (flatwork, windows, houses ect...). Also is there a guide on what chemicals to use on the jobs and how much dilution is required.

I hope this question does not sound like a dumb one but i'm new to this and I really want my business to successful from the start.

I guess you have to be the new guy at some point.

Thanks for all your help so far, this site is a great source of information.

JDB.

I guess there are some guides out there. I would bet, after seeing some of those, you will find that every job has its own situation. You will be better off spending the money on equipment. You are going to find that trying different chemicals and using some of the helpful accesories that are out there, will make you and your business that much better.
Good Luck!!

Delco among others have several how to guides/vidios, I havent seen them, so I can't speak about how good they are, they seem kind of pricey to me, just like Mark said, I preferred to spend my money on equiptment and I'm still spending...

You can probably find more info on this and the other boards, especially to fit each indivdual situation you will encounter.

Make a list of questions you would like answers to and then do a search.

I would add this, be carefull, some questions will solict several different answers, makeing things more complicated than they seem!

I know that Delco hood cleaning video is EXCELLENT, but could not tell you about any thing else, but I would assume, when it comes to delco you are looking at A+ for quality...

Hi JDB,

I am a newbie also.

One technique I have used that helps me to amass information is to highlight the section of a bulletin board post that pretains to whatever subject I am researching (i.e. flatwork,pricing,housewashing...). I then right click and copy. I go back to the decktop ; with the post still active; and open a word processing program such as Word or Works. I copy the information to a file and keep it in a file I title : Pressure Washing Cut ans Paste. This is an easy way to am amass alot of information from diverse sources. I have many different files that I print out and read while at my full time job.

Books,Videos, Boards, call pressure washers in other towns who should not feel threatened.

Good Luck,

Scott

Maybe i'll put together a school?

I think that's a great idea Ron.

I believe that Steve Rowlett is doing something similar and it seems to be working really well for both him and the people he trains.

Ron,

Sounds like a good Idea, But I bet it will be harder then you think... Lawyer expense, getting Hotels lined up, Keeping to a list of activities... Delco also offers a class for all types of cleaning and such, it is a 6 day course...

It is even on the top 20 new business for start up cost...
I wish I knew the site to show you...

Will get back to you on this one!!!!

I bought the videos from Delco on house cleaning, awning and flat work. The videos were not too much help on the house or awning cleaning. I felt they were way over priced.

You may be able to buy them off of the internet used?
