do you offer other roof services

Yes Yes and Yes!! Russ I meet lots of guys that say there is no money in cleaning gutters, yet we have lots of residential gutter contracts that are great for December, but a pain in June! Commercial gutters can be big $$$. Also there is a guy here in MD with his MHIC and an experienced roofer so he gets lots of repair jobs as well. We recommend repairs all the time. I would guess at least half our roofs we recommend a repair at the ridge vent or on the penetrations. I find myself saying call a roofer to look at this or that almost every day.

I talked with a friend of mine that used to visit the boards a while back and he was telling me that he also offers annual roof inspections plus maintenance contracts on leaf and pine straw removal, gutter clean outs ect.

Is that yearly clean out, or more often?

I always make sure the ridge vent is clean and clean gutters when washing roofs. A quick walk around inspection allows for a check of any damage but I always tell the customer that I'm not a roofer and repairs should be left to a pro.

A good honest answer like that will earn respect from your customers. Many people who hire qualified pros for jobs will fear the jack of all trades and know better.

Phil I can not answer for Russ' contact, but I can tell you that here in MD we base the frequency of gutter cleanout visits on a couple of factors. First how much tree cover and proximity to the building, second is the type of trees. Pines and pinoaks tend to drop a lot of things in the spring therfore requiring 2x a year clanouts. Mid June and early to mid December. I have met others that actually do 4x a year cleanouts. Most of our contracts for gutters are 2x a year.

I have contracts on 2 cleaning per year. Right after the snow all melts off and right before the snow comes back is when I perform for these gutters. I have gutters I clean out on a per call instance as well as the ones I perform when I clean the roofs.

I inspect every roof looking for leaks as well as check out the homeowners ceilings inside before I quote and let them know they need to make any repairs before I clean them for them.

Actually what I was talking about was gutter clean outs, roof debris removal, annual cleanings ect

Yes. All that. We also haul the debris of if they request it. Some of the upscale hoods don't want the trash bags.in the street.
