Do you have a good pair of boots? Tell us about them....

Had a pair of muck boots, I did love them, just wore through the bottom and of course no steel toe which eliminated half my jobs. I am looking at a pair of Cofra boots (Full rubber) for the work that requires steel toes. In the real cold of winter because I still do work below -0`F I use some Dakota boots (Canadian brand) that are water proof and good to -100`C. I got sick of going through HD specials in 4-6 months and having to live with wet feet for a day or two or until I found time to get another pair.

Find a good boot, it's way better then wet, soar, or cold feet.

Tried 160 dollar Redwing boots after 3 pairs of other boots. The redwings I bought in September then I didnt work december or January. Its May and they have holes, torn on 3 seams and not waterproof. For the price and hype of Redwings I expected better. Thats barely 6 months use and they were getting bad back in March

Ive started buying Keen. .We wash trucks all year around, so in the winter time I really have to make sure my feet dont get wet, it can make for a miserable day. http://www.onlineshoes.com/mens-keen-portland-pr-8-inch-aluminum-dark-brown-p_id231817?adtrack=gpa&term=Men%27s+KEEN+Portland+PR+8+Inch+Aluminum&offer= they seem to be some of the best boots ive bought in a long time, boots usually last me 6 months or so, last I had was rockys, timberlands, redwing, but I really like the keen now. and they have a warranty.

Ron thats looks good i have been using the muck chores but will definatly try some of those. The mucks rub blisters on my lower leg,got to stop doing so many calf raises.

Oh so you wear them even if your wearing shorts? I try to avoid doing that because I think it looks funny.
Let's see your sexy legs!

I have the same problem Hal, way, way too many calf raises years ago. At the refinery the only rubber boots they could get me to wear that would not cut the circulation to my legs were the fire fighter boots but they are way too uncomfortable to wear all the time.

I cut the tops off a little above the ankles on the regular rubber boots and they last a while but are just not wide enough.

I would like to find some good boots without paying over $125.00 per pair that come in wide sizes like 11EEE, sure would be nice!

Benjamin, I had the Cofras and they don't stand up as good as they claim to in the winter. at -30C the ankles split and the boots stiffened up like ski boots. I have the Dunlops now. They stand up pretty good and I wore them for most of the winter. I wear Blundstones (no laces) or Kodiaks in the summer and just got a pair of Muck Chores with the the steel toe (or whatever it is) and I really like them. They are super comfortable and warm.

I buy mine from tractor supply, they are rubber boots but they have a steel shank and arch support. I am not sure of the name but they are black boots with a yellow shank running thru the sole and they were around $30.00

These socks I cant recommend highly enough for keeping your feet dry. A little expensive but well worth it.
