Dirty Bird

One place with a large fan I did downtown a couple years ago, and had my son count them as we removed them 32 total some were uncountable do to various dismembered pieces. The owner complained about feathers coming down the duct and when they started the fan in made a weird noise in the morning. Needless to say we installed a wire mesh system in the fan.
 
Was the fan running backwards?
 
When we find a bird graveyard in the fan &/or plenum I suggest they have 2 choices: re-vamp the fan or simply leave it running all the time. Invariably the choose the latter. End of problem.

I was in a crawl space today for a very very upscale restaurant in Santa Monica.
The crawl space was literally full of birds, birds' nests and eggs too!!
Bird poop especially just piled high right on the ceiling tiles.

When the GM saw my photos he started telling me how he always hears wierd noises when he is in the office alone with the door closed.

I told him there is help and medication available for these types of disorders.......and we had a pretty good laugh. :D

The building owner is going to have to plug up the holes and as for the bird poop and nests----not my specialty.
