Diesel Performance Anyone??

lol

I have billet transmissions in all my trucks, and most have 100hp injectors! I have one 06' 2500 4x4 that makes 600hp to the rear wheels, and still gets 18 miles per gal! THe 7.3 is the best motor ford has ever had, my pops has a 6.0 and its junk!!! 2 Sets of headgaskets and not even 50k yet!!!

Been in and out as money allows. Kind of located in a hot bed for it here. Maddog and PDI are two of the big names in my town. Makes it hard to get a leg up on anybody, though, since there are multiple 1000 horse trucks on our streets.

Ive Got diesel running through my veins.

03 GMC suncoast transmission, Garrett 4094R turbo, EFI Live custom Tuning, and many other little bs items that all add up in the end. im around 600-650 RWHP.

ive got a motor im building now for the truck that will have forged rods and pistons, 100 over injectors, 2 cp3 pumps, GT 42 Magnum Turbo, custom cut cam designed by me, oversized valves and springs, log style headers and up pipes built by me, flow benched intake runners and y bridge all designed and built by me.

i am estimating to be around 1200 hp and pushing 2000 ftlbs on fuel only who knows what it will be with nitrous or water meth

Jared, is that the truck you brought to the Alabama Round Table?

That truck was very fast and cool!

I have been wanting to do a few things to my 05' Cummins Dodge2500.

I was thinking of running straight pipe, aftermarket air cleaner, programmer, etc.... Not too wild as that is the truck that pulls my work trailer but would like some more get up and go.

I'm shocker Roger didn't blow a head gasket about the 06 6.0 blowing a head gasket:)

I have a 7.3 that runs well, never touched a bolt other than maintinance.

First hand...
7.3 L no problems only rust...6.0 L 6 injectors, turbo, power steering pump, heads under 30k miles. Truck #2 fuel distribution system, had to tear half the motor apart under 15k miles. All warranty stuff though.

Still I like the way the fords drive i just wish they would use some better materials in their construction to stop that dang rust...

I don't have a rust problem with my 6.0, I also have not had any head problems. I have had an HPOP fixed under warranty, and had a set of batteries every year, under warranty. I think that is it. Of course, I only have 106k on my '06

6.0 - (BEFORE chip)

New turbo @ 36k
New turbo @ 42k
Then got superchips
12 new injectors between 45k and 49k
Engine blown @ 49k
Put in refurb engine
52k put superchips back in
THAT SUCKER REALLY MOVED THEN!
SPINNING ALL FOUR TIRES CHANGING INTO SECOND
14.8 1/4 MILE!
55k brought in for recall on harness/ Ford reflashed messed it up
Sent the chip in to be resetup
56k Installed chip - now it's a dog.
17.1 quarter mile
Still pulls good though
Remember, this is a 10k lb F450, not a 350, I'm carrying about 2000 more lbs.

These were taken with weak chip

And 99% of the problems I hear about 6.0s is from people who know someone that has problems.

True dat. And most, if any problems were pre '05. I have two '06 6.0's and I wouldn't trade them for a 7.3. Both have 60-70K, no problems. Strong, quieter, and I average 15-16mpg around town (4x4, 20" wheels, 3.73). I haven't done anything performance related to them, as I consider them to both be work trucks.

Okay, question for you Ford guys: is there anything out yet on the appearance changes to the 2010 superduty? I've seen lots of stuff about the new 6.7L diesel that will be in them, but I'm wondering what the body/appearance changes will be. I'm afraid the constant EPA reg changes are going to make owning a diesel a real pain for quite some time. Heck, ford can't even keep a motor on the road long enough to work the bugs out before the regs change.

6.6 Duramax LLY, AIRAID air filter, Edge Juice/Attitude and 4" stainless steel exhaust. 8' FabTech lift, 37" Pro Comps mounted on ProComps.

Only problem I have experienced is the wiring harness to the fuel injection module wore through (common problem). Replaced with the new and improved harness and new mounting bracket.

I tow Fords for free.

LOL !!!!

Dmax's turned out to be far better than I anticipated. They do get great power and are really reliable, especially the later ones.

im 19 mpg around town and 23 on the highway 10 mpg with 32,000 behind me

Gotta Love Ya A DURAMAX!!
