diesel fuel filter

The soot remover won't clog a filter. Better take a look in your tank and see if you've got crud in there.

If your tank is metal it might be time to change to plastic. You might want to change over to kerosene for a more cleaner approach.I changed over when i got a new hot box and seems to be doing good.

additives commonly contain alcohols,
alcohols "help" water to mix with oils (..diesel fuel in this case),
so if you added a bunch of additive recently,
you might have an increase in muddy-stuff floating around the tank,
that was "stuck " at the bottom of the tank before.
