Desert Island Discs

Meanin' to see it Matt, got it once but never got around to watching it. I'll tell you guys a good family flick for kids, etc. is "Greatest Game Ever Played" (somethin like that) it is about an early 1920's U.S. Open, Disney movie, but pretty good, especially if you like golf. Partially about Harry Varden, who is an Englishmen who still holds the record for most British Open wins....considered best European golfer of all time.

Even as a golfer, I find it very hard to get in to golf movies. I tried to watch that one, but like must others its hard to get over the fact that I know they couldn't hit the side of a barn with those swings. The Bobby Jones one was just as bad. 1-2 in "serious" golf movies for me would be Dead Solid Perfect and Tin Cup. Caddyshack is not only the greatest golf movie of all time but has to rank up there with one of the greatest comedies of all time.

Here we Go...

Sex Pistols - The Grewat Rock and Roll Swindle
Bad Religion - 80-85 Comp (this is a single disc, so I hope it counts)
Antonin Dvorak - New World Symphony (any competent orchestra's recording)
Fear - The Record
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Pat Green & Cory Morrow - Songs We Wish We'd Written
Dave Brubeck - Time Out
Chris LeDoux - Radio and Rodeo Hits
Social Distortion - Mommy's Little Monster
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov - Scheherazade (any competent orchestra's recording)

Nice, eclectic mix.

Slevin was OK-not great but worth the two hours. The director tried to be a little too clever-didn't work as well as it could have.

The Departed looks good!!!
