Deck cleaning in Williamsburg VA

Here are some before and after pictures of a deck we cleaned. We did not stain it. It took 2 of us 7 hours. We had to haul about 1000 gal of water to do it.

We just used our house wash mix. There was not any stain on it. As of now we are not staining it. It would look good with some Ready Seal on it.

I love this stain. We are pretty much using it exclusivley.

Lenny when yopu said you used your house wash mix. What was the ratio? I have a deck that is coming up and not sure on what to use. I will try and post pics, if I can ever figure it out. Or I can email them to ya. MAybe you could give me some advice on what steps to take.

Hey John you turned me on to a/c stain & I am a happy man becaus of it. I got to loock at a breas-way tomarrow that has been painted. They want to strip& stain.
I am going to carry a test kit with me mabe 3/4 differnt strippers and see what works best. Any ideas?

We alway wash a deck when we do a house wash in case there is any spotting from the house wash with the same wash that we used on the house. No dwell just apply and rinse. For a deck wash only with alot of algae we mix at 25 to 33 percent. If we doing a strip we use Sodium Hydroxide about 6oz of beads to 5gallon and let it dwell for about 15mins just keep it wet. Then we rinse with a mixture of white vinergar about qt to 5gallon. Give it a day to dry then stain and seal. Be careful of pets and children ask home owner to not let them in area until it is dry. We had a snake under the deck recently and it ran it out fast.
