Would it be possible and cost effective to add something to your water tank to keep the water from freezing while you are pressure washing. With the temps so cold, it would be nice to be able to add something to keep the water from freezing on the sidewalks and parking lots.

For those of you reclaiming, are you able to continue to work when temps are extremely cold?:withstupid:

It drives me crazy to have work too and not be able to do it.

Are you wanting to keep the water from freezing in the tank, on the sidewalk or both?

For our water tank we purchased a submersible heater for when we are parked. It is typically used on farms to keep the water troughs from freezing up. Make sure to get a type that is safe to use in plastic tanks.

While we are travelling in VERY cold weather. We will either blow out the antifreeze on location and re-antifreeze before we leave; or we will leave our machine running on the ride back. We run a hose back to the water tank and have the water circulate through until we get back where we can antifreeze in private.

For the sidewalks while washing buildings, we have contemplated laying down some type of homemade saline solution after we have gotten up most of the water. Not convinced it would work though..unfortunately we have not had the chance to try it out this winter yet The couple buildings that we've quoted I think have been too high. (More work involved when it's really cold..)

Also, you want to make sure that in very cold weather you always have your gun running. Our guy had his freeze up on his 2 weeks ago, I guess he didn't believe my husband.
