Day Porter

... anyone here offer porter services? is it a worthwhile add-on?

After taxes and supply of liners and daytime cleaning equipment, I can't see $16/hr being all that profitable?

I used to sell it by the center not the hour. It all depended on number of days a week/.

We provide porter. It is a lot of "baby sitting" till you find good guys (better ladies). We have a list with tasks they do by each day if its a full time contract. Day Porter helps tremendously the night sweeping and gives full control on the cleanliness of the property. I would say it's not worth it alone, but completes and helps the other 2: power sweeping and pressure washing. We offer packages with all three together by which we garantee 100% cleanliness of the property for affordable package price.

What are some of the duties of a Dayporter?

I take it that the person will be on-site all day long picking up trash in the parking lot but what else do they typically do?

Thanks.

Here are some:
Manual removal/scrapping off fresh gums on daily basis. So far, I have found that this is the only solution for getting rid of gums on painted sidewalks. I added a note/exclusion to the monthly pressure cleaning contract saying that we do not remove old gums on painted sidewalks any more. Most of the shopping centers around here have painted sidewalks.
Cleaning/Sweeping around dumpster pads.
Some contracts require light maintenance such as painting curbs or light bulbs replacement (PM provides the materials).
Wipe down windows ledges, mail boxes trash cans.
Removal cobwebs.
Mopping sidewalks from coffee and other spills as needed.
and etc..
