David Vicars Fell off a Roof- Wish him Well Here!!

David Vicars slipped off a roof a few days back and was severely injured. His leg is shattered. He has had one surgery and as soon as the swelling goes down enough he will have at least one more. The doctors can't say when he will be able to go back to work.

Dave’s in a lot of pain but like any of us this is David’s last worry (the pain).
Truthfully what I’m thinking about is how David’s going to take care of his family. None of us prepare for this day until it happens.

This is one of the cool things about being able to help Contractors in need.

I feel lucky today as I ran my business trouble free this week. It crosses my mind what would happen if I get hurt or I can’t work for some reason. Most think my business would run as usual, but that’s fantasy land. I would have problems, maybe not like Dave’s but I would need someone to step in and take charge. I’m fortunate today to help David anyway I can. It might sound selfish but I’m glad that I’m helping David instead of being in his shoes.

I ask all my friends and contractors around the world to donate to a fund started to help David and his family through this tough spell.
David’s always been a guy who would take anyone’s call and help them any way he could. David wouldn't ask for it so I'm asking for him.

If you don’t have the money to give please help by encouraging David by writing him or calling him.

For all who contribute to helping David, NCE will send you a Hat, Shirt or a Sticker.

At the End of this thread we will draw a prize to all who participated in the thread wishing Dave well for a 250.00 dollar cash prize from NCE. (One winner per Contest)

Guys the donations do not have to be large, please donate what you can. Everything David gets will be appreciated by him and his family.

I rarely ask for much, I’m asking you guys today show unity for David's family. Today is a day we can be proud to be in our profession. Stand by our brothers who need our help.

Guys wish David Well in this Thread, Talked to David Sat. The very post from freinds and Strangers made him and his family greatfull.

Post away or maybe even Tell David your story, I have recently found many guys have fallen from roofs.

Lets all unite and share for everyone.

Ron, do you have an address for Dave? I would like to help out. It may not be much buy I'm sure if we all pull together it will add up and help. David is a great guy and I wish him the best for a speedy recovery. Prayers on the way from FL.

Hope he has a speedy recovery doesn't sound good, Roof cleaning isn't the safest job but we all know that going up there. Hope everyone who cleans roofs and reads this is just a bit more careful on their upcoming roofs...

I Have been thinking the Same thing, especially after talking with David. Mike Cook told me he fell of a roof n 2005. John Orr in 2006

I think we should all be a carefull and maybe think safety more.

Dave came out to Charlotte for a grease-a-long about 6 months ago. My helper twisted his knee at the start of the night, and Dave got more hands on than he had planned for. He could have walked, but he stuck it out, in freezing temps to help me out on a huge job. Get well soon Dave!!!

If I win the $250 it can be sent straight to Dave's fund.

Ron, Thanks for your efforts to help a fellow washer. As you mentioned, I fell off a roof about 5 years ago and was out more than 3 months. My family is still feeling the effects of my moment of complacency. (I think we are all guilty of trusting in our abilities and going through the (safety) motions.)

Gravity sucks!

P.S. Donations to the UAMCC PayPal account are currently at $370.00.

Guys, Thank You so much. Your thoughts and prayers are what is keeping me in good spirits.
We are blessed to have all of you in our lives. I give thanks to god everyday for you guys and girls.

Man Dave sure hate to hear this, but I guess crap happens sometimes.

I have been trying to be more safty minded the last while but I know that I sure have more improvements to do.

Man I sure pray that you will be back on your feet again very soon!!!
