DAVENPORT - Some people in Davenport had to change their lunch plans Thursday when a small fire broke out at "Centro" about 11:00 a.m.
Davenport firefighters say the fire was in the exhaust hood of a wood-burning stove. Everyone made it out of the building safely and firefighters put the flames out in minutes.
Centro was closed, and employees say support from the community will help them move on.
"The town has been real supportive of us for the year and a half we've been open," said Jeremy Reichart. "Well I guess two years now and I'm sure they will continue to do so. And we really appreciate their support."
The flames were contained to the wood-burning stove. Restaurant owners say they hope to be open by Friday evening or Saturday at the latest.
