Cyclone Lp4500 Whats The Verdict!!!!!

Cyclone report

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum, great forum and resource. I'm in the planning stages of starting a new business in Atlanta focusing on commercial cleaning. I've been doing my research on the best equipment available for a new company. Fortunately I do have capital available but don't want to make a big purchasing mistake. I have been looking at the Swabby and found this thread about the Cyclone. In doing a google search I found a report where one Cyclone owner apparently had a lot of problems. I'll paste the link below.

Are these old issues that have been resolved?

Scott have you had any issues with your Cyclone?

Hi guys,

Before you plunk down about 90k you might want to look at parker west. I was told the drive around surface cleaner (zipper) is propane powered and costs about 20k. That price does not include the vac or the pressure washer. But if you figure in the price for a good vac, pressure washer and zipper then you will probably be alot less than the cyclone. If something happens to falter on the cyclone you are more and likely going to have the whole unit down which leaves your work at a standstill. At least if you zipper is down you can still work.

Thanks for the response Jorge. Do you have a link describing the Parker West Zipper. Googled it but didn't come up with anything, I also went to Parker West site directly?

They do not have anything on their website at the present moment however I would just call them and ask to speak to Gary. He is very helpful and he will guide you in the right direction. I think you will be amazed at what this zipper is capable of doing with a few attachments. Good luck and keep us updated.

I still like the cyclone better, it gives you a lot of options for other things that would be harder to do with hoses all over and worrying about cones or barricades.

Hi Christopher,
I liked it for the same reason, no umbilical cord, but the report I found made it sound like it wasn't quite ready for prime time. At $105K it should be ready to rock not falling apart in the first 100 hours. That's why I was wondering if anyone else had one and was this an exception.
If you change the link posted previously from report1.html to report2.html ...3 two more reports come up, anyway I haven't found anything negative on the swabby.

Anybody got any thoughts on their swabby good or bad?

Oh by the way seems like even with the umbilical cord the swabby is more maneuverable, turning radius on the cyclone is 17 feet.

I'm going to talk to Gary, at Parker West, as Jorge suggested, first part of next week. Kids are getting out of school today for the summer.

Thanks for your thoughts, read the other reports, let me know if you think they are BS.

Before you throw out some money, there was a lawsuit about the use of the flocculant so if that is a vital part of the process and a big part of the selling point, I would do some further research.

I do not know all the details and they don't want the details posted here but you can search the board for some info that was presented here or do a search with the names that are posted like Swabby, parker west, etc.... that should get you started.

I really like the idea of a large surface cleaner that you can drive but I still can't justify the price of adding a surface cleaner deck to a zero turn mower and charging those prices.

Sure it recovers and the other one does not recover but for the extra money involved, come on.

If I had the engineering and welding experience I would make one for my own use but I cannot right now, maybe later on. hahahahaha

Hi from Ireland,
I am looking for some advise on the cyclone lp4500
How good is it ,does it clean as effectively as demonstrated online
Basically "Does it do what it says on the tin " and what sort of price are they?
I currently run three truck mount systems from The masters touch AZ here in Ireland and feel the cyclone would be an advantage over competitors .
They are Not in Europe yet either and I could be the first in Ireland to use them
Thanks or Cead a mile failte
Eoin;)

Cyclone has a Brand new bad boy out now. Going to see a Demo of it next week.

They are actually around the Globe now since the new Co took them over. They just sold 5 machines in China Last month.

Dont care about the legalities. I did see a brand new machine in action last weekend and it was impressive. For wide open huge jobs it would be incredible. Reclaim was near 100%

I am wondering why more manufacturers are not making machines for large areas of concrete when they know that it will save the contractors time, money and labor getting the job done.

Its a Great Machine, the funny thing is thats the machine the guy used in his contractor business for 20 years. He released this new version because he is retired, out of the contractor business and focused on selling his creations.

Bill from Clean Up America (Swabby) said that it was amazing how no one had the money, could not get financed, or wanted to spend the money. He said about 1 out of 10 that applied for financing got approved..

I think it also has to do with if you are doing very large jobs it is easier to put 3-4 8gpm machines with surface cleaners on it versus have one big expensive machine that may have problems. I have learned this from experience at times. Less headaches just sending the guys out.

I think price is the point when it comes to the larger surface cleaners. why would anyone want to pay over 20 grand for a 40 inch riding machine when you can get two 36 inch push ones for under 3 grand. Its simple math labor is cheaper on big jobs than one big machine. The really big sq ft concrete jobs dont come along everyday but the smaller ones do, its easier and more profitable to be setup up for the everyday work and then add one or two extra machines for the big work.
