CWG Truck For Sale

For those of you looking to get started or maybe even expanding this might be something your interested in. The truck is in very good shape and has only 17,400 miles. I keep it in a heated garage when not in use so the paint still looks great too.

The Hydrotek has about 670 hours on it. The Hydrotwister concrete cleaner only about 2 hours. I only used that once to clean a friends driveway.

I'm asking $23,000 for the truck, equipment and supplies. I paid just under $42K for the truck and equipment when I bought them new so I have it priced to sell.

UPDATE 3/14/02 Price Reduced To $20,900

Will,

A personal suggestion, paint that truck another color and the tank to then put it up for sale.

Not coming down on you but I feel you will be hard pressed to sell it with that color, everyone knows who and what it is.

Remember many have a bad taste for HIM and won't want anything to do with anything that dealt with HIM.

You might offer to have it painted as another way to sell it but I just feel if there was no yellow it would go faster.

Hi Jon,

I agree with you that many people may not like that color since it does remind people of HIM. He does have a way of leaving a bad impression on people, myself included.

I figure that since I'm letting the truck go for $19,000 less than I paid for it that the buyer could have it repainted with the money they save from having to buy new equipment.

As I mentioned in my post, the truck is in very good shape and only has 17,400 miles on it so it's barely even broken in yet. Even if someone wanted to pull all the decals off and have it repainted, it would still be a very inexpensive way to get started with a PW business. Heck, I paid 20K just for the truck alone.

But if someone is really serious about buying it, maybe we could work something out about the paint job.

Aplus,
Jon was referring to Lance Winslow who owns Carwash.com. All his trucks which were part of his franchises are Yellow. He apparently has a woefull reputation that I believes contains criminal activity such as mis representation when it came to selling his franchises.

I think He was found guilty on the false representation concerning his Franchises and I thought he was banned from selling Franchises that pertain to this business. Apparently now he is selling fleet washing Franchises once again as an earlier post states.

Lance is still selling franchises just as he was before. The only difference is that he closed down his Car Wash Guys company and renamed it to WashGuy.com. But he still uses his carwashguys.com site to generate leads for him.

The FTC lawsuit against him basically amounted to only a slap on the wrist. I don't think he has changed one bit based on my own dealings with him.

If I had to do everything all over I would have started my business on my own. There is nothing that a franchise can do for you that you couldn't do for yourself as far as I'm concerned. Plus the cost to get started on your own is much less.

Will,
That is a Dodge Dakota, not a Ram? You list heavy duty suspension, what does that mean 1/2, 3/4 1 ton or something else? I'm in Loveland,CO, it sounds like a good deal, but I'm not sure I could swing it financially at this time. I know of someone else that might be interested, I'll pass it on to them also.
There is a truck similar to yours that I've seen around this area, so I checked out that web site you mentioned and found a guy listed under franchisees that is out of Fort Collins. What excactly did "HIM" do or what does he do that gets him in trouble? Also, what if anything should I expect from this franchise up here as a competitor? Other then seeing the truck around, I haven't had any dealings with him. You can e-mail me at skiicepat@yahoo.com if you don't want to talk about it on the board.

Hi Pat,

It is a Dakota, but with the V8 option so it has the exact same engine, heavy duty transmission and rear end as a Ram does.

There is a franchisee located out of Fort Collins. In fact he's the only franchisee in Colorado that I'm aware of. The Denver franchisees left the Car Wash Guys some time back. In fact I was just talking to them about a week ago. They are doing much better now that they are on their own.

I wouldn't worry too much about any other future franchisees being much competition for you if you decided to start your own business up there.

If you or your friend want to come down here to the Springs sometime to look at the truck just let me know and we can set something up.

Hey Ron,

How's it going? I did get an email from a guy out of California today who said he was interested in the truck. It was too late to call when I got the email so I'll give him a ring tomorrow and see what he has say.

Will,
I forgot to ask and I didn't see one listed, does it have a tank in back for soap? I've been in business for about 1 1/2 years in Loveland, I am still working my day job and washing nights and weekends. I don't think I can justify buying another set-up just yet. My dad is located out of Indy and runs 2 setups there, so I was going to check with him to see if he would be interested.

If that list of clients (for the fort collins franchisee) on the wash guy site is accurate, I did lose out on a bid to him. For this area, that job is a nice fleet job. I bid it lower than I should have and whoever is doing it now bid it a fair amount lower than me.

Hi Pat,

Yes, it does have inline soap injection but it doesn't have a separate tank in back for just the soap. Most of the time I would just mix up my concentrated truck soap in a 5 gallon bucket and use that.

How ya doin? I am interested and would appreciate it if you could send me some more pics. I will contact you by phone on the 16th. How many hours on machines? Thanks so much and look forward to talking to you..Jeremy--------Triple 7's Fleeteater FL.

Hey Jeremy,

The Hydrotek PW has 670 hours on it. Send me your email address and I'll send you some more pics of the truck. The bulletin board doesn't have the ability to email attachments to users. You can email me at wblackburn@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Will

Hi Ron,

I'm still looking for a buyer. With Spring coming up soon I'm trying to get my garage cleared out . As a result I've decided to drop the price I'm asking for it to $20,900.

I'm practically giving it away at this price since I've got over $42,000 invested and the truck has such low mileage.

If anyone is interested, I can be reached at 719-330-2499 or by email wblackburn@hotmail.com
