Customer Insists On Paying More!!

Wish all my potential customers were like this one....
Went to do an esti on a home and and I quoted 300.00 to the home owner, expecting the usual conversation that usually follows explaining why I charge what I do.

The first thing he said was How Much??? At that time I was thinking here it comes again....I asked him what he meant, he then said it was a lot of house, do I want to rethink the price? Feeling funny just bumping the price I told him 300 is fine, just tell a friend about me, after a bit of small talk,
He asked me again don't you want to rethink your price? I sheepishly said ok you twisted my arm I will do it for 350 and no more!!!
He then said why don't you do it for 400 and do me a great job!!
I agreed to his offer and assured him his home would be cleaned better than it had ever been cleaned before.
I thanked him for his generosity and explained to him that he was the first person to every insist on paying more money (not including tips) and that I really appreciated it!!
( Just 3 days ago I quoted a home at 300 went down to 200, she had 7 other contractors come by.
I ended up doing the job and after I finished she told me to put her on the books for next year. I don't think there will be a price issue next year)

That's awesome, I had the same thing happen last week. It's nice for a change when people realize the value of your service.

I had a customer last week do the same type thing....Gave him a price of $900 to restore his deck...he said lets go tell my wife....I had the here it comes mode kick in also...He told her the price and she then said sounds good, could you also clean my deck furniture while your doing it and get this spot off the wall.....he husband chimmed in and said just charge us $1000 to cover the extra stuff she is adding on you.....I would have sprayed the table and chairs for free......
Got to love the good customer!!!!!!!

I had a building to wash in Birmingham and the manager said thanks for giving us a great deal, how about we pay you 700.00 more, I said "I didnt ask you for that" he said I know but I feel its worth it, its a lot of work.

I was floored! True story!

Nice..

In the same week I had one add a good tip to our bill and another one bounced a check on me. I figure it balanced out. Guess which one I knocked off the price to get? No good deed goes unpunished. I did collect the check.

Great stories guys. Thanks.

It really is nice when you have a customer that appreciates good quality work, even better when they give a tip.
