Curb washing and mulch protection

Looking for ideas on how to wash curbs and not blast away all the mulch behind them. A 1/4 piece of plywood with some waterproof paint is the only thing I can think of but I can see that having limitations, too short and Ill have to move it a lot too long and it wont fit in some portions. Any clever ideas?

Ive thought about the same kinda thing. Maybe for interior work too where you cant get close to the wall with the surface cleaner so you have to hit it with the wand....maybe plexi or poly carb on a handle. Like a painters mask (usually 2-3ft piece of thin metal with a handle on it).

When I have a helper I use one of my old yard signs.

Gloves--Check.............. Boots--Check................Flimsy Choroplast sign--Check.............. Eye protection while bending over holding sign....... Slip of the wand and the choroplast with shatter into shark flying shards... not to mention the mulch that will fly as well..... Not trying to bust your balls........ But really looks dangerous.. Flying debris at accelerated speeds and eyes are a bad combination.

I've never actually hit one of the signs directly, so I don't know how it would stand up, but it didn't take any of the ink off the sign. I suppose I could start rethinking the subject.

IDK i guess I'm super sensitive about eyes..... 90 percent of my work is lawn maintenance...... Edgers kicking up mulch and rocks....... string trimmers spinning out debris pieces.. at who knows what RPMS....( shit people get pissey if your anywhere near their car... for fear of scratching with debris.... never mind driving 80 mph down a highway ).... All I can tell you is it hurts when it hits your face.... Glasses are 100% must for my guys. non-negotiable. I understand the frustration of water on them while washing..( dry towel in a pocket works wonders ).... you can stitch a cut finger.....stop a bloody nose...... but you only have 2 eyes...

Again just my $0.02.... the pic just looked like the before on one of those videos etc... Maybe I'm over reacting..

Agre w Hal. Also when possible stand in the mulch or grass area. But most importantly use a dual lance.
