The sign looks great, however I think that is way too much info for a yard sign. Yard signs need to be short and to the point..........like, take all of that material in the middle and replace it with

Power Washing

Wood Restoration

etc....

Keep it short and sweet. The only person that could read all of that is someone walking their dog.....

Hey now,

Did I fail to mention the signs are 5' x 4'. No just jokin. You are right. But hey, these were the ones we started out with this year. They are 24" x 18" signs. Paid $164.00 for 100 of these puppies. Had to do it, great deal. Corrigated Plastic. We have put up maybe 8 so far and gotten 3 calls/jobs so far. But then again we do this every year. We normally put up anywhere from 80-100 and they pay for themselves in one house wash.

If anybody wants to know where I got em. I will have to dig it up. But I will do if somebody wants. Did all of it online and had the signs in 7 days from when I placed order.

If you stumble upon it, I'd like to know where you got them.....but don't go out of your way.

How do you put the signs up? in the yards
Is there print on front and back?

Mike

Rule of thumb - A person should be able to read everything in 2- 3 seconds. If not, they never make it to the phone number. The title of your business should stand-out like a sore thumb.

We generally offer a 5% discount on all residential if they allow us to keep our signs in thier yard for 1 month. This is already a fixed price in the total anyway. Alot of our signs are put up all over the place. Trees, Post, Other Ad boards (Wooden) etc..... Each one of my guys keeps 5 in their trucks and puts them in various places when we see a good location as well as when time will permit. Be careful though, your state highways might have laws against doing this. We have very strick laws here in Maryland and if you post one to thier signs, they take it down and trash it. They can also fine you for littering.

So bottom line, place were you deem fit but do not take away from the surrounding area. Place in high visibility areas such as downtown, busy cities, busy towns etc.... Intersections galore but be tasteful. There are signs everywhere. Signs that have been there 20 years, post to those at the bottom. New shopping centers usually have (NEW PAD SITES AVALIBLE) post to those underneath. There are many areas you can place these to drive business. Just be creative and not messy.

Oh and one more thing. We did something 2 years ago that you and your company should do ( Adopt a Road) This is free advertisment paid for by your state roads dept and the only thing ya have to do is pick up trash every 3 months. This we dont mind because the area is right down the road from the office. When we do this we also place like 20 signs on both sides of the road while we are picking up trash and remove them when we are done for the day. But the State sign stays there all year round.

Henry,

that was a great idea. What did it take to adopt the road?

Reed

Ah that was Gordon not Henry. Thank God, I am not charging for all this consulting, Henry would be richer than he is now. Just funnin.

Not much. Just contacted the State Highway Admin and they let me pick out which road out of what was avalible and then they gave me a training tape and 3 free saftey vest. The only promise is that we do this twice a year. We do it quarterly though. About 3 weeks after we signed up, the signs were in place. Free Advertisement. At least I think its free. Some would say what about that hard work pickin up trash. Well, I say, someone has to do it and we have fun doin it. Not to mention the reward of knowin ya did somethin for the community besides taken their money.

Reedster, just go online, Missoruri Highway dept and the probably have info on it. You will probably be able to see which roads are open to adoption etc...

Good Luck.

Mike

Thats a great sign. Easy to read. Your business name and logo is easy to find. Phone number is clear.

ps I'll get that information to you on Monday that you requested.

That doesnt make any sense,.. Did anyone else get blank pages when I sent out my company info to you?

If anyone did not recieve the full packet of ads, letters and other info I sent out, please email me at henryshousework@comcast.net and I will send them out again. I don't know why you all arent getting everything that I sent out.. I did have a copy of one of my newspaper ads but all the other pages had stuff on them. Normally I might say your fax is messed up or your out of ink but not two different people.

Henry

Thanks Henry.
I got all the pages. You are one well prepared contractor. I only have a few sheets pertaining to my business and I'll try to fax them out to you soon. I don't think you will get any new Idea's from me since you seem like you have all bases covered nicely.
