For anyone needing Sodium Hydroxide in pure form. Ace hardware has it in convenient 1 Lb. bottles. $3.47 per. More expensive than buying it 50# at a time from Univar,..but for me it's worth it. (Especially considering customer pays for it anyhow,..and is very cost effective either way),...The 1 Lb. bottle is a nice pre-measured way to keep it on your rig.
For example,..I'm working on a deck about 2 miles from my home in the afternoons after my primary job(s) are done,..this job has no water supply, so I told the guy I would need to haul approximately 1200 gallons (4 loads),.. and would bring a load of water home each day and work on it in the afternoons,..anyhow,..I will use maybe 8 Lbs. Sodium Hydroxide on this job,..less than $30.00 on a $900.00 cleaning job,..with the added Sodium Percarbonate and Oxalic,..I will still have less than $50.00 in materials. Point being the convenience of the bottles outweigh, the cost in my opinion.
Mixed 8 OZ. Per gallon along with 4 OZ. percarbonate,..applied direct,..dwell 15 minutes keeping it wet,..the old CWF whisks away very easily.
