Steve, Rob and I met when I was editor of Cleaner Times (1994-1998). Steve and I met in Las Vegas and we went out with a couple of others to the old casino with the cowboy on it (I can't remember the name. It's gone now.) There we met Johnny, the Elvis-impersonating bartender, Jim, our dealer who would slip us hints when no one was looking, etc. It was a fun-filled night for us country folk. Steve also wrote quite a bit for CT when I was there so we talked often.
Rob and I knew each other through PWNA, but we really became good friends at a CETA convention in Chicago which was followed immediately by another PWNA event. He wrote for CT some as well. The last time I saw Rob before this past summer was at a fleet-washing event in Dallas. I had brought a couple of my friends along with me for a long weekend. Rob treated us to a night on the town.
