Jeff, don't twist my words to insinuate that I am a liar. Feel free to search all the boards to find any place I ever promised I would run. I only promised that I would NOT run until at least a year had passed from Carlos' departure and that I would not accept an appointment at all.
Let me simplify it. It's like you telling your wife you promise you won't cheat till Christmas and New years coming around and her getting on your case because you haven't cheated yet like you promised!!!! See how goofy that sounds?
I haven't lied. I haven't broken any promises. I leave you with the challenge to find anywhere that I promised I would run for the board and quote it right here. Until you can do that, please stop accusing me.
I know it's driving you crazy that you won't be able to dish out some grief to me as a BOD to give me some of my own medicine. But let these guys that are left get the glory they deserve.
They pulled it through when I thought it was past impossible. I'll take a little credit for being a fire under their butts at times to stir things up and get them moving. But it's guys like the current BOD (especially John Orr) who deserve all the accolades and honor for pulling this thing though. At the end I had a spastic attack and gave up. John never gave up. I don't think the other two did either.
I need to step back after my tirade. I failed the org by doing that and I need to learn from that mistake. Others who failed the org are all the ones who joined or got on the BOD for the purpose of putting it on their resume. Those guys need to take a look at Mike T, Randy and John and see the example of what a real BOD looks like. Even though there were times when they were guilty of doing nothing, they stepped up to the plate and put the pedal to the metal when they had too.
I'd also be very careful about getting to cozy with guys who are deep in the other org. They want you guys gone in a bad way. That's a fact. Just be wary of that. I can't stress the importance of that enough.
Jeff, you would make a good BOD. You are good at drudging up support and you are loyal. Ron would be a good addition. Some guys like Matt from Colorado Pro Wash or Chris Chappell would be good. Chris attends almost every event. If the org stood for things that Chris believed in, he would be a good ambassador at the events. That's just a few. There are plenty of guys, including some of the original members who would make good BOD.
I can still support the org from outside a BOD position. I understand how you might feel that I'm "chicken" or something. But it's not like that at all. The guys who know me know that. You need to come out here for a couple of weeks with the wife and get to know me on a personal level a little better. Then you will know that your conclusion is incorrect. Come on out in January when both our businesses are slower and we'll take advantage of the slow season discounts and have some nights on the town. We can go to Studio 54 and pretend we are 20 again. (or, in your case, go there and pretend it is last weekend again! )
Anyway, It's not going to happen Jeff. If you'll go back and read my final posts on the UAMCC board you will see that I did make a promise that I was done. (in an official way) It was a mistake to promise that, but it's done.
