concrete fix

What did you decide to do?

I contacted the dry ice blasting company and they are only doing large industrial applications these days, so I think that means 20k plus. Must be nice.

I thought the same. The job is too small for someone to come all the way from Orlando to Miami :).. The owners are not willing to pay anything. They ask if it's possible, I give it complimentary in order to get a monthly service agreement.

I am still thinking what to do. Greg sent me a few brands for colored concrete staining. I also watched a few vids on youtube.
The questions now are:
1. Too many brands out there and all of them claim they are the best :).. I guess a painter or someone who does that kind of job regularly could know better.
2. What happens with the gum shadows if I re-stain it and seal it. This surface was not cleaned for years.
3. How stable would the new paint be, since it is a sidewalk abused daily with direct sun and high traffic?
4. Would the re-stained surface more or less match the rest of the sidewalk color (where it is in good condition)?
5. How stable would it be if we start monthly service (pressure cleaning and gum removal), because this is the whole point of it.. :)
6. How difficult is that kind of job, I have no experience in this kind of work.

Yup.. too many ???, but I do want that contract :)..

I agree ....sometimes better to walk away and live to wash another day....

Gum and the gum shadows will always be a problem in some areas no matter what surface it is, maybe they have not thought about that but it should be brought up and also mention how monthly cleanings will prevent new shadows so it will not get to where it is today.

I don't think any coating, let alone paint will work out in a public high traffic place. I got nothing, well maybe try a spot with some stripper and see if it comes up - I would try a soy based. Dry ice sounds like the best thing.
