Concrete dust cleaning

Vacuum cleaner? I've been around lots of concrete dust and it's even worse when it's wet concrete dust :(
 
Is it dried on the vehicle or just sitting on it? If it is just sitting. Use compressed air followed with a good cleaning with a soap mixture. Agrregate and portland cement will stay in suspension long enought to run off the car. I would suggest an immediate reclaim from the ground since the concrete will... well...... it will harden up as hard as concrete if it dries.

A light, buffered, acid with an immediate rinse. Acid loves to eat concrete.
 
Kory - call Mike or Lyn @ Eacochem. They do make a product that is for getting concrete off the trucks. I'm betting that it could be used for your needs :)
 
yea, alot of those detergents used for cleaning concrete trucks has hydrochloric acid in it. I kno Russ at southside told me he had something like that a while back. Theres also a company called vital flo-chem that has a chem for removing concrete, supposed to be safer than hydrochloric acid. I've never used it! I dont know how well it works on cars, but its worth a shot.
 
It's been our experience that the products at EacoChem are so well formulated and buffered that the scariness of the actual working chemical is reduced .... alot.

You are going to have to use something pretty extreme....concrete dust that has been wet turns into, well, concrete.

I lost faith in them on 2 different projects.
 
oh, sorry. Diedrich Technologies and Prosoco also have good chemicals for taking off the crusties from where they don't belong.
 
I agree with Scott a light acid mix followed by a neutralizing soap should take it off. A turbo nozzle might be a bit aggressive on the paint or trim of the vehicle.
 
Acid on windshields can be a problem. Are these new cars?
Used car windshields will likely be damaged faster from acid. You might be able to get away with it on new cars...but I'd talk to your chem guy about that!

Acid is standard procedure on cement trucks. Not every acid attacks glass, you can test it by throwing a soda on the windshield of your car.

Mine is a non-corrosive acid blend. It is made specifically for cleaning ready mix trucks on a regular basis. Took splatters off an Acura for a guy once.

I believe Whitecap has a similar product. SpecBlast might want to check that out.
