Concrete and window cleaning???

Have this strip mall that I am to bid on and they want me to "hand wash and squeegee all the windows" to insure that there is no spots on the glass.

Is this normal??

Window cleaning is something that I haven't done to much of. How do you charge for window cleaning??

Also in the bid it says that we are responsible for any "accidental leakage and will be cleaned up at contractors expense within one hour notification."

Man that sounds a lil stiff considering how leaky those commercial doors are.

Has anybody ever ran into this being a big problem?

Any input would be appreciated!!

I clean the windows when I get water on them. I just went to Home Depot and got a 16" squeegee and a 16" cloth squeegee. I just spray the window, then rub it with the cloth squeegee, then clean it off with the regular squeegee. No cleaner needed. I don't charge extra for the windows unless they want additional windows that I did not PW near.

In my experience, alot of commercial doors leak water in. I would really check on that part of the contract.

Sub the windows out. Guys that do windows can do it in a fraction of the time. Also make sure they specify if windows means exterior only.

for the doors, keep some duct tape on you and tape off the doors. try not to leave it too long and keep some finger nail polish remover to take the glue left over from the tape off
Goof Off spray works great for the tape residue also.

Just reg duck tape?? I tried some of that at the last job and the stuff just blowed off some of them as if it was nothing.

Pretty sure it just the outside of windows and just if they got wet.

Thanks for the response.

I would like more thots on the windows.

If you run a surface cleaner on the sidewalks, the tape shouldn't be an issue. Are you using a wand on all of it? I did one big restaurant when I first started out, all with a wand, my arms almost fell off after 5 hours, and I went out and bought a surface cleaner.

if their are leaks on the windows it means that the silicone or something else is messed up. IMO you shouldnt be responsible if it leaks because of that. and as far as cleaning the windows you should only have to squegee the bottom half and i would wait till rinsing to do that. it shouldnt take much longer. but if it is alot and you dont feel comfortable with the windows i would just sub that part out as previously stated
