Chuck Bergman Pressure Washing and Soft Wash Roof Cleaning here! :-) HOWDY!

Chuck Bergman

New member
I'm Chuck and I started in business in 1978 as a painter in Ithaca, NY
In 1988 I moved to Englewood, Florida and started up my painting business here. In 1989 I bought [instead of renting] a new pressure washing machine and added "Pressure Washing" to my painting advertisements and it kicked right off!
Of course, back then there were maybe 3 of us pressure cleaners in the yellow pages, now there's 3 pages! :-(
In 1991 I discovered what is called "Soft Wash" "No Pressure" roof cleaning and quickly came to feel that the soft cleaning method was better for my customers roofs, than my pressure washing of them. Now, other than a "Built Up - white stone/cement- roof, we only use the gentle soft wash method.
Everything else gets pressure cleaned!
I appreciate being a member of your group and perhaps exchanging some ideas along the way!
My general info is below. Thanks,

Chuck, PWI is not owned by me. It was given to the industry in 2000, most here think this because I started it.

PWI is owner by all Mobile cleaning contractors and Associates that help develop it.

22 Members called staff Run business behind the scenes. Ron doesnt decide you or anyone else is allowed here. I do get blamed when the staff decides things, thats ok. They usally make the right calls collectively together as a team.

The staff is made up of guys that make 30 million in revenue to guys that wash homes and might not clear 100,000.

Welcome and hope you stick around, opinions here are welcome and truths are told.

Thanks ACE!
I thought I was banned here forever?
Maybe I'm mixed up with another place?
Chuck

Something you might want to fix is remove that Link or change it. RCIA link goes no place your going to get a call, maybe a competitor?

Use your site, the blog you have here is clean for your company. That will get you phones call, its great the RCIA is there but unless they actually develope a real directory the SEO will just be all over the place.

The Blog you started here is clean and will put customer in contact with you.

Thats what we do here, get contractors business.

I personally support the RCIA, the guys here all have there own thoughts and opinions. People here do not speak for me and I do not speak for them. We are all independant business people making choices for ourselves.

Ron, RCIA has a directory, but it really doesn't matter. Here is how SEO works, A customer will type in Roof Cleaning AZ, Google then does the work of sorting it out FOR YOU.
Think about it, Customers do not search for a roof cleaning directory, then type in " Clean my tile roof in Tempe, Arizona" Or, "Roof Cleaning Phoenix, Az".
That would take double the effort Ron.
Any Post or Blog, on any Forum, will be returned or not returned in the Google search results, depending on that forums overall SEO Rank for that search phrase. Just as it is hard to get a 2 seat sports car to carry 4 people, it is hard for a pressure washing, industry politics, and overall general purpose Forum like PWI to compete with a dedicated roof cleaning Forum like RCIA. Roof Cleaning SEO will not be as good. RCIA is the highest ranked Roof Cleaning Forum in the World. Thus, a promotional or any other roof cleaning related post made at RCIA will outperform that same post made on any other forum, all things being equal.
A Blog on PWI is seen by Google as content. There is NO "Magic Thing" about a Blog on PWI, or anywhere else. In fact, someone could actually cut and paste their entire Blog on PWI over to RCIA as a post, and if the Blog is primarily Roof Cleaning Related, RCIA will outperform PWI.
Likewise, PWI will likely outperform RCIA for Pressure Washing related posts.

I guess it would matter what people search for roof cleaning, do we know?

By studing that we could, i highly doubt anyone uses pressure washing when looking for me. Very Few!!!

Yes, we know, potential customers!

So when are you going to let the Cat out of the bag, do you want more customers ?

I wouldn't call them customers...if they are then I suck as a businessman. I spend about 1 hour on average for the free accounts and about 4 hours on the premium accounts. They are partners in the war against the SM's, AL, superpagees, YP yellowpage...etc

As I explained in my email a few month back, these sites steal our work and direct it to roofers. In almost every city we have a member, we've obliterated them on the serps....in just a few months. In some cases, knocking them totally off of page 1.

It's a labor of love...and the SEO isn't "all over the place" (as you correctly stated in your post), It's fired through a sniper scope. Highly targeted precision SEO.

Here's a snap from one where we flat out spanked the competition (directories and lead services) for their primary source of organic clicks..(long tail keywords). Even a guy in Hagerstown MD got in the game for Oh.

roof cleaning contractors ohio - Google Search 2012-12-21 17-01-23.png

It's quickly becoming an authority site for roof cleaning in the eyes of google.

As for more members...I decided when I built the site that I'd rather create value and let the people spread the word. This thread is just the 4th on three forums that I've actually "personally" addressed or discussed the site. It really doesn't matter to me if I have 30 or 300 members...it's their city and listing, I don't a slice of their pie.

It's a highly relevant do-follow human edited directory with growing PR value...certainly worth a few minutes of typing.

That roof cleaning directory is kicking butt! It actually showed up in a tampa roof cleaning search, and that is not an easy thing to do.

Charlotte County In Rotonda West. THANKS!

I was trying to invent a method of pumping chlorine mixes onto roofs in 1990 / 91, but nothing I tried worked.
Then I ran into some condo roofs being cleaned in town and watched. I went over and asked about it and they showed me the whole setup. Of course, back then it was like 1gpm ShuFlo pumps through 1/4" ID hose and a shut off valve fitted to one tip. It was still faster than pressure washing and of course, did no damage. Within a year or so, I went to 1.8gpm and 3/8" ID hose, then 1/2" ID hose. I stuck with that setup for many years and I could switch back to it tomorrow and wouldn't be surprised if I didn't save maybe 1/3rd - like $3500.00 a year on SH and only spend an extra 20 minutes or so on the average roof? I tried the 7gpm Fatboy and could see I was throwing mix away with runoff [especially on tile!]
