Ok, got a Christmas cheapskate story.
I'm a cheapskate. It's just who I am. Fayth got a lot of stuff for Christmas. I'm not stingy, I'm just frugal.
So we are Christmas shopping for some miscellaneous odds and ends at a Catholic Charities store. I spot a decent looking girls Trek bike with a $20 tag on it. Now I used to be a mountain/road biker. In the 90s there was a period of time when I rode an average of 20 miles per day for more than a year. I've always liked the quality of Trek bikes and have owned probably 8-12 of them.
So I bought this girls bike and thought that maybe I could clean it up, tune it up and it would make a nice little bonus Christmas present to replace her aging single gear bike.
One thing it needed was a seat. I started looking up seats and found this:
WARNING, IF YOU OWN THIS BIKE PLEASE STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY AND BRING IT IN TO YOUR LOCAL TREK DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT.
So I called them and verified that it was indeed recalled. I informed them that I was NOT the original owner and they said it didn't matter.
So last week I dropped off the BLUE bike I got at Catholic Charities and picked up this brand new $319 PINK bike that Fayth got for Christmas morning as a complete surprise.
Merry Christmas to my pocketbook!!!!! $20 bucks!!!!

Doug, Looks like you had a happy pink Christmas too. I hope they don't go from pink to black like a lot of the girls do. I'm not looking forward to seeing Fayth going out with black makeup and black fingernails. Let's encourage them to STAY WITH PINK!![]()
And I can't let Fayth see that bike with all that fancy stuff on it. She'll want to move in with you!
