chlorine neutralizer

Does anyone put a chlorine neutralizer in the gutters when doing a roof chem wash. Is there such a thing, and will it harm the gutters?

Never used one, just rinsed them out really well.

Ive never seen a gutter damaged yet from doing a chem treatment. The SH breaks down very quickly especially on a warm day and breaks down to a salt (sodium). The sodium will not harm the gutters. If your still unsure then rinse the gutters out with fresh water but it's not really necessary.

Sodium Thiosulfate neutralizes Chlorine. I am by no means an expert at roof cleaning but I have not heard or read anywheres where anyone neutralizes it afterwards.

Thanks for the info guys. Getting ready to do my first roof with the chem wash this week, if it warms up.

When u mix your chems try usng warm water instead of cold. It should help the solution work faster in these colder temps.

Are you more worried about the gutters or the grass/plants? If its the grass/plants just put trashbags at the end of the downspout and capture the runnoff. I'm on my blackberry so I can't post any pictures so if someone else can, please do. If its the gutters you're worried about, don't, they'll be ok.

I was more concerned with leaks in the gutters not damage to the gutters. I was definetly planning on bagging the downspouts. I am doing the roofs by myself so I don't have a guy on the ground rinsing the greens. Of course I always rinse the plants and grass first just worried about leaks in the gutters killing something.
