Bout to do the first official, licensed house wash and wanna make sure this sounds right...because it feels like christmas and my first date at the same time!

Will be down streaming house mix with variable pressure wand 1/2-1 gal of 10 or 12% depending on what the pool place has for me, little EBC and water. The house has a little bit of mold in a few areas but nothing major. house is about %99 vinyl and i just finger scrubbed a spot with water and it seemed to pull most of the dirt/grime off with a little bit of white residue from the siding.

Is this mix gonna do the trick? too much? too little?

Congratulations on your first gig, now go make some money. Your house wash mix may need to be adjusted for different houses. My house wash mix is 2 gallons 12% sh, 3 gallons of water, 4 -5 ounces of roof snot and five ounces of blue voodoo ( house wash ) . try and down stream a side and let it dwell for 7 minutes and then rinse it off. If every thing comes off then your good but you will probably need to address certain spots twice. Go easy, don't break anything, don't hurt anyone and go get the hang of it. good luck

I doubt you'll get very far on 1 gal of SH. Can't figure out your mix from what you've mentioned so far.

What is your PW rated for (PSI/GPM)?
What rate of pull is your DS'er?
How big is the house (square footage)?
How much hose do you have?
Are you DS'ing at the pump or the wand?

Have enough SH on hand in case you need to do an area twice (doesn't sound like you'll need to). Do you have an extension pole with a hard bristle and soft bristle heads (spider webs, egg sacks)?

What sort of license are you required to have in GA to wash houses?

I get good results with a 20% DSer and a 4GPM PW (+ soap). The ratio is about 4:1 (water:SH).

Red asked the same questions I was gonna ask. Gpm hose length type of surface how dirty is it all play into your mix strength.

Good Luck! I'm hoping to make my debut by the middle of next month.

I remember my first time dealing with oxidization. I thought the world was caving in lol. By using the right amount of surfactants and other ingredients one is allowed to simply apply the soaps and rinse using no pressure and never leaving ugly miscolored vinyl siding. For me cleaning a home is all about the cleaning agents. It is up to me to find the right balance and right amount of my cleaners for each job. some will need more sh some will need less sh. Over time I learned what was my basic house wash mix and how to notice when more or less of theses agents are needed. You too will learn this as you go along.

Too many potential problems with badly oxidized paint or siding, I usually pass on those as I don't want an insurance claim or bad publicity.

Down here the painters will lowball everything and offer to pressure wash the house for free if they get the job but like clockwork, once they start the job, they tell the homeowner that the paint just went up so they have to raise their prices or walk. I have heard this many, many times from people and customers. They don't lose money, they give something free over here but prices mysteriously go up at the supplier or paint store after the job is started. It is a shame to play games with customers.

On very light oxidation, I might try a test spot and see what happens, might not be too bad and do the job.

I would recommend you going to train with someone or attend a class like the one that Doug has about every month so you can learn from a pro and not take chances on those "iffy" kind of jobs.

The class will teach you a lot of things, shorten the learning curve, keep you from buying a lot of things that you don't need and will not use (saving you a lot of money here) and help you get started the right way.

Make sure you have insurance before you start your business, just in case.

That works for you? I mix my Blue Voodoo really strong. Paul said a drum kit can make 3 drums. I just make 1 drum with it. And I use about 2 gallons of it, and 2 1/2 gallons of 10% SH and no water for my mix through my 8 GPM system.

Sure it works i make one drum out of mine as well. You have to remember those bases in blue vodoo are akilinity boosters.Sh is a akli so it helps rev it up thats a good 7 minute mix.Gives time to wash gutters an etc before i rinse down.Dont belive those chemical sales people lol.
