Chemical Chart?

Maybe it's just me, and taking in too much. I am wanting to put together a chart, or list, of chem's and appropriate uses, and possibly cautions (such as don't mix with, of must be followed with,...). Also, best application method.

I want to do qualiyt work, but also want to work smart, and not spend all income on a wharehouse of product.

Les Howington made up a list just as you describe. It is posted here under "House wash home brews" I believe. If you can't find it, e mail him or me and I'm sure we will get you a copy.

Hi MARV,
People sell meny brand name products that do/claim too clean the same dirt/stuff off of the same surfaces.
You said your looking for a chem chart to know what each chem is and what it can be safely mixed with. Well unless your a qualified chemist you can get into trouble with this one.
There are definite DONT'S that i know of, and certian chems that can form dangerous gasses.
As far as application it depends on mostly 3 things. #1 how strong of a chem./mix needs to be applied to get the job done? #2 how damaging is the chem. to the type of applicator? and #3 where do you need to get the chem?
Say we use SH.
Bleach in a upstream-could hurt your pump and only has 6% SH to start with so it wont do much, 12% will do damage to your pump so thats out.
Downstream- now its just a matter of "is the delution rate" going to be high enuff to get the job done? most downstreamers get a 20% draw.
it will hurt some types of injectors and fittings.
You can use diffrent tips to SHOOT it.
Then the "at the tip" type of injector.[x-jet type] most chems wont hurt it and you can get a very high chem. to water application, also shoot it pretty far or use a close range tip. Drawback- you need to take the chem to the wand.
100% chem application, pump-up,bucket and brush,
flo-jet,ect...all work and all have some drawbacks.
Water hardness and temp all effect your mixes.
What is it you want to clean [mostly] and what type of soil are you looking to get off? Diffrent parts of the USA have diffrent problems. The more types of things thaat are not related to one another, the more your going to spend. That is why lot's of wash co. only wash one or two types of surfaces.
