Cant help there. Dont do roofs yet.

Got a big outfit around my parts that does em for $300 and that includes the preservative and gutter cleaning. I bid mine at $1800+ so I dont get em. Do a search but I am pretty sure that a Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Percarbonate mix is used for cleaning and then apply a good perservative on it.
Definately need speacial shoes. Forgot the brand. You strap em on your shoes and they have cleats at the bottom. It is extremely slippery when wet and especially after you put cleaner on there.
I fell off my first cedar shingle roof. Took one step and I slid like a playground slide all the way down. I shot off the edge of the roof like a torpedo and landed in the bushes.NO FUN.
