Carpet covering concrete porch

Posted this in PTstate but was having trouble uploading pictures.

Anyway, a customer asked for a price to remove a carpet that is covering his front steps and porch. The carpet is green and made of either a plastic or rubber. I have seen similar coverings at batting cages and years ago at my grandparents' screened in porch in Florida. Anyone have a clue how to remove the adhesive that bonds the carpet to the concrete?

Tried to upload pictures and it would not take. So I uploaded them to a craigslist ad so I could link the ad here. I am sure I am going to get hate mail as I listed it at 40,000 hahaha.

The first step would be to tear up the carpet. Easily done, espeically since it appears the bonding between the adhesive and a lot of the carpet has failed.
2nd step I believe would be to use a floor scrapper and remove the bulk adhesive.
Really, I am just looking for what to use to get remaining adhesive. Not sure if there are differents types of adhesive used for this.

Any help, info, tips would be appreciated.

You will need one of these that you can rent from a local company, it will remove the carpet. As for the glue you it will remove some of it however you might need to use a diamond grinder.

Thanks Matt. I think given the condition of the carpet adhesive I will not need a machine to pull up the carpet. A large portion was loose already and I was able to simply pick it up to take the pictures. What ever will not come up simply by pulling I will take a handheld scrapper that I used to pull the carpet off our basement slab. I hope I do not need to rent a grinder is an expense I do not want to have to deal with.

It is $45 to rent the scrapper locally it will get rid of the glue, it depends on what the customer is wanting to do with the front porch.
Bare concrete You will have to grind the concrete.
Stain Concrete you will have to grind the concrete under the rails you will have to use a handheld style
Tile the front porch grind it
New carpet, just use the scrapper

You are right

Very rarely is that glue easy to remove without grinding, I have been lucky a couple times and got it off without grinding, the other times the glue in places looked different, not sure if it was the age of the glue or kind but those I did not want to try and months later when by those houses, the stuff is torn off, messed up but the glue remains so I guess listening to the guys on the bbs's and gut instinct saved me a lot of aggravation. Sometimes you just never know.
