Can We Improve PWI??

What can we do to improve this site and improve the membership of viewers
I spoke up about my faith and some of the things that I do not particular agree with as far as tastless comments that I did not thing was appropriate for the boards, I just brought up one thread but anyone can use the search button and you can read as much as you want.
The general consensus was to restore the post in question, as one mod put it "Bottom line - mindless blabbering is what it is - if you come to socialize, you're going to see some crap. If you come to learn.....you're not in that forum?"
So it was suggested maybe to allow posting with a 'warning: this section may offend' title. If that is the direction the forums is heading....

Let me make My Suggestion
This is the first board I ever joined http://forum.gon.com/
Take a look how many people view this board. This is Ga. Outdoors News forum. It is geared to the outdoors and Is Very Successful.
Routinely It has over 500 members online at any given time

One thing I like about that board, look at some of the subjects and topics http://forum.gon.com/forumdisplay.php?f=67 and if you want to understand it more, read some of their posts.
People will try and get away with as much as they can, but over there the mods try to nip it in the bud.
For the ones who might tell me since I like it so much maybe that is where I should be, I do have a lot in common with those guys but I have just as much in common with a lot of you guys.
I am not promoting there board over this one, that is not my purpose, but we can learn from them.
If this warrents deleting.....just move it over to Mindless Blabbering:rolleyes:

yeah Carlos but there are a lot more hunters in the south than there are pressure washers probably 50k to 1

I would have to agree with you Russ...

I had lunch with a gentleman at the GA RT....he picked me up in his pickup but before I could sit in the truck he needed to move his pistol out of the way. I was like...mmm...whats that for? He just smiled at me and said..."just in case" and told me to get in....Of course we became good friends over the months but...well...yea...I would have to agree with you on the hunting thing Russ. :D

I think adding more little Dudes would help!  :D

Bill of Rights #1 Free Speech. I think some stuff is ridiculous in Mindless blabbering, and if you arent cursing or insulting anyone it should be allowed. If you do not like it do what I do, hit the back button.

I think that most topics have been beat to death, and thats why Mindless Blabber is very popular.

You should make it mandatory that all newbies to the board and to the Biz do a search on all the basic questions before they start a thread that has been beat to death.

Alot of BB have a Sticky's section which is just that, questions that have been asked over and over again. There they will find out all they need to know about the basics of P/W.

Great comments Nick.

So many times a lot of the newbie questions will be answered if they just read the older posts or use the search button.

Yes there will be great questions that have not been covered and that is no problem for anyone to answer.

I agree but we need to also remember before being rude to people that most newbies dont really know how to use the controls on the board to do successful searches, my advice would be if they ask questions like the ones everyone else does when they are new, we should maybe do a search and then post a link to all the threads that they should look at like this (house wash mix) http://www.propowerwash.com/board/upload/search.php?searchid=292489

Great info Russ.

For the information, for those concerned about censoring. The government has no right to come and censor this site. Since it is independently owned, we have every right to censor any and everything that is stated on here. Shoot, we could require it be a love fest of Pzrat if we wanted.
That being said, we do require that anything posted on this site be family appropriate. I do not want my wife looking over my shoulder wondering why I am looking at filthy and inappropriate remarks.
If you do find something that you think does not belong on this forum, you can always report it to the moderators. I have long stated that I am not going to take the time to review every post, so that it is incumbent on the members to moderate themselves.

In regards to the newbie questions, keep in mind that a lot of stuff that you or I may look at as common sense they have no clue about or how to ask. One of my first questions to the company that I bought my equipment from was "What is PSI?" If someone was to ask what that was on this site I could only see them being scolded enough to not want to post again. I have recently gotten interested in some things that I am a member of the bbs on the sites. As a newbie and having an idea of what I am looking for, I may not know how to search for it (not knowing key words, as an example) and then I ask and the answer is "Do a search for it!" Although they or we have answered the question a thousand times, someone with no knowledge of pw may not be able to find something by searching.

I agree with posting a link to a thread where the answer is, but if we are here to help each other out, "Do a search!" is some bad advice.

This is talking about people that attempt to find the information on their own. I am not talking about Tony or Larry who always want everything handed to them.

That was meant to be serious, Larry and Tony are just fun to pick on.
