Build your own water reclaim/recycle system

Haha, Chris the questions is what could I build one again for! There was quite a learning curve doing this so I definitely spend a little more than I wanted to. In this system I have about 5200.00 or so into it. I went a little overkill on the engine size, and it cost me 2k alone for the barrels completely set up from hot and mighty. If I had to do it over again, I think I could do it for 3500.00 give or take with steel barrels. If I wanted to go with stainless barrels again, probably 4500.00.
 
I wonder why jerry and hot and mighty use two drums before the blower? To me it would seem easier to build a box and put the sand trap, filter and pump out in.

The only big problems I have encountered so far is the surface cleaner I use not reclaiming as much water as it was advertised. The system I have should be able to run two sets of containment barrels at once. So sucking up all the water from one surface cleaner should be no problem at all. So im not sure if I have a bad egg or what when it comes to the surface cleaner.

Lou im not sure of all the details as to why they use two containment barrels. But I can only speculate that it would require less cleaning and little easier on the sump pump. I have found that when the barrels start getting dirty (about an hour of use)that there is a lot moisture that makes its way into the blower and it starts to be a mist monster out of the silencer.

It should come as no surprise that the guy from Louisville has a nice vac system. The Louisville guys know a lot about suckin'.

That system turned out nice, great job building it.

The trailer looks great too.
 
Post pictures of the surface cleaner and bottom, maybe it is something simple that is not right on it.

How is it cleaning other than picking up the water?

I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them Chris. It cleans great. I have only had the opportunity to use a couple surface cleaners and this one has been the best so far. It is the first vacuuming surface cleaner I have owned though. I have looked this thing over top to bottom, inside and out and cant figure out why it is not reclaiming all the water. And I use "all the water" loosely. I know it wont get every drop. Maybe when I put some pictures up, you seasoned vets will see something I dont.
