Bleach versus other cleaners

I have a question. I have spent the weekend trying out different
chemicals on vinyl siding. Bleach seems to work the best of all.
Other than not wanting to destroy a pump with by running bleach through it what other reasons are there not to use it to clean siding?? Thanks for your input.

David,

If you are talking about the injector on your pwer it should not be a problem.

Most pwers injectors are set up to down stream after the pump.

On this arrangement bleach or any other chem never goes through the pump!

read and understand the health reason's not to breath bleach.
Make sure to pre-wet the greenery.
Rinse the greenery.
Might want to use sented bleach because reg ol bleach has a strong oder.
carry the MSDS sheet for bleach and if you transfer bleach from orig container to another, mark it well.
dont pre-mix bleach with your other ingreadent's. It will/can weaken either. Has to do with PH level's.
e-spec has a detergent just for bleach user's. might want to check it out.

I would like to know what the diffrence is in upstream and down stream I have a 14hrs honda with a comet pump zwd 4040 and i use KO mixed with bleach. Will this hurt my pump, and is this up or down stream? I dont want to ask to many questians on one poast but here it goes one more I hear a lott of talk about X-Jets Next week i will be doing two large propaine storage tanks i would sat probly 15ft or more off the ground,Im thinking from what little i know about them one may come in handy. What do some of you more experenced pressure cleaners think.

Scott, I am not one of the more expierienced members of the board but can help you out. The diffrence between up and downstreaming is where your machine picks up the chemicals. Upstreaming is when the chemicals are captured and pass throug your pump. Downstreaming is whem the chems are captured after the pump. This is the prefered method because there are no chems passing through the pump keeping down the wear and tear of your equipment.

Here is a link to 17 diffrent conversations on the X-Jet. I love mine. The more I use it the more comfortable i am with it and the more uses I find for it. Like any new piece of equipmen you have to fiddle with it to get use to it and use it to its full capacity

Ok Mine is downstream the chems are picked up after the pump my chem injector is after the pump and it is right before the quick disconect to the high pressure hose.

Thanks

I too was confused about upstream and downstream injection.
According to my owners manual it sounded like the chemicals were going into the pump because they warned not to use bleach
saying it would harm the pump. But my system is injecting chemicals downstream so I should not have any problems.

After doing some research my manual looks like half
a dozen other manuals with the picture changed.

I was just fine until I read the manual :)

Thanks

David
