Black roof stains from extractive bleeding

Has anyone dealt with extractive bleeding or bleed through stains? There are some homes I'm about to pitch and after a closer look, I think this is what they have.
I'm just wondering if it will clean up as well as black algae or am I looking at a different ball game.

I've had it happen to me only once. They shingles were REAL cheap and REAL thin. Wish I had a pic but I don't. The customer actually had to replace the Roof months later. The spots looked almost like a purple color.
 
They are asphalt shingles. The majority of the homes with it are at one end of a subdivision. No trees are close to these houses. A lot of typical black streaking on their roofs. Looks like an epedemic when you see it. Thing is, each streak has a pretty defined point that it starts from which I thought was an indication of extractive bleeding. And yes it is something that can occur on cheap shingles.

Talk homeowner in doing a test area with your roof mix. I suggest applesauce or something close to it. Only then will you know if you can cure their problem. If sucessful you can confidently sale the others.
