Will someone please give me some help with this. I need information to share with a friend. Do nozzle sizes need to be changed etc.

No burner nozzles dont need to be changed out. At least we never did and never had any problems whatsoever even when running 100% bio diesel.
 
Great info. I was thinking about that.

I had done some work for a fast food chain and was trying to get the used oil but they had a contract with one of the bigger company's and the contract was almost up.

I would have to have containers made and when I talked to a welder, it would cost almost $600.00 each and they had 4 locations. I could not afford it at the time but if I did do that sometime soon, I would be able to run BioDiesel here most of the year and even in the burner on the rig too.

That would be nice to save some money there. Maybe later on.

I had found 2 small chains of fast food places that were still paying to get rid of it but after our conversation, I am sure it will change.

I did tell them that I would pick it up for free and every few months bring a new 55 gallon drum but they said there is an ordinance to have a bigger, stronger container that was hard to tip over so it is harder to vandalize.

That is ok, I will still be on the lookout.

Not sure about that one. Chuck on PTState was looking into running it in his truck. Never heard if he started or what happened or if he changed his mind about it.

I would think if you filtered it enough, maybe it might not damage your injectors but I do not know.

You can run used motor thru a diesel engine. You can also run it in your burner if mixed enough with diesel,
BUT for the sake of saving the air we breath spend a few extra pennies and just run straight diesel and recycle your used motor oil.
 
LOL RLS thanks for pointing that info out we have to pay to get rid of our used motor oil around here. But I understand completely burning oil in it would pollute the environment worse than diesel. It was just a thought and in the long run I'm sure burning clean diesel in the burner is better on it than dirty motor oil. Thanks
 
Around here all the oil change places, AutoZone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, etc... take used oil as they offer this as a convenience to their customers.

I do not know if they pay to dispose of it or if they are paid for it.

I would call around and find out if you can leave it with those places.
