Ron this is a great point. I was just thinking about this for estimating programs and invoicing programs too. If it is software that is used on their server then they have all your information and access to it.
Negatives:
-They know all your customers
-They know what you bid
-They know how much you make and profit
It would be easy to start a national cleaning company and take a lot of contracts this way, you can average out what people are charging across the nation and more.
Great topic. I hadn't thought about it in this way. Very scary especially if you find yourself on the outs with one of the partners involved. I remember a few years ago there was some disturbing talk about a program that a lot of window cleaners used. Your customer database was on his server and some had issues getting theirs back when they left his program.
Ron I was taking a look at the pressure washing commercial bidding software you were developing. Have you abandoned that project?

Tony you use Service Task an industry specific cloud based CRM. Do you have concerns with that program?
I have talked extensively to the people involved at ST and am comfortable with them. I can't say that about other systems. And I should add that ST isn't as industry specific as you might think. It is a system that can work in many industries and can be tailored to window cleaning or pressure washing. Not to mention that none of the employees are in the window cleaning industry running a business with friends in my area that they might be inclined to help out with my info.
That was one of the reasond I decided not to pursue Customer Factor. Just didn't feel comfortable with my info out there.
