Best way to spend $1500

I'm currently in the process of getting setup to do commercial sidewalks and buildings. I have an extra 1500 lying around that I want to spend on either a) an add on hot box from northern tool, 4 gpm 4000 psi. B) surface cleaner C) open to ideas

My current setup is 4gpm cold water 4200 psi. I would like to be able to remove the gum from sidewalks so I'm leaning towards a hot box. Thanks

Do you have an established client list? If you do more power to you, go for the item that will profit you the most. If you don't. Hang on to the money you may need food for the table.

Just my opinion Matt but I would say....none of the above.

Just a quick search says you have no website....before you spend a penny on anything you need to get a website up. I don't mean a DIY site, I mean having a pro design and build you a site. This will work 24/7/365 and the best money you'll ever spend for your business.

As the extra business comes in from your website (and it will) take that money and put it back in up grading your equipment.

I suggest 5+ gpm if you're going to move into commercial cleaning. 4 gpm is too small to be effective and not worth the expense of adding hot water to. While a 1 gal. difference may not sound like much it's a huge difference in pressure washing.

Good Luck!

used hot box about 1000 dollars that heats up to 6 gallons per minute ,,,(you would be surprised ) how many their are out their ) better yet go get the business and rent the hot water machine for about a 100 dollars all day long ...

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice. Your right I don't have a website right now and need to get me one. Ill check into renting a hotbox, thanks

Give Ty a call if you want a website done. He just redid the www.alertpowerwashing.com site. The other sites I have he did from scratch. All of them rank on page 1 or 2 of google. I would also see if Cullen from pressurewashing.net has the area you live in open in his directory as well. To have a page on his site is inexpensive. I think I'm one of the few that actually has 2 directory listings on his site though and they both pay for themselves with the first few days of every month.

Craigslist can provide you a lot for $1500. I picked up a 20 HP Honda/ 5.5GPM/4200 PSI machine with 750 hours, Surface cleaner, wand, 250 gallon tank, wands, osulator, for about that. Check your local CL!

I would agree with the website also. though in the begining it wasnt doing much I just landed 2k dollars worth of work in two days. Probably 8k total. The website from go daddy is like $90 a year. I think i rank great on google and yahoo.

Thanks guys, well I have the website now, just need to figure out how to advertise it and get it to rank good on google.

do you have a do it yourself website like go-daddy? If you do they will walk you through the meta tags, key words, writing your content and so on. you just need patience. or like Guy said pay good money and have someone else do all that for you.

This site helped me out a lot with seo. Haven't used it in a couple years but you get a free audit and they tell you what parts of seo your website is rated. Do the things it says to fix your website, then go back and get another free audit until you get a high score, then the waiting game starts, it takes search engines a while to realize how great you are.lol!:)
