Showing before/after photos to clients is a great idea. How do you guys go about that? Do you mail the photos after the service? Do you show the photos on the spot with a degital cam? Please help, thanks

Email is best or just print them out and mail them via snail mail.

If you are really good you or your crew leader will use a laptop and burn the photos onto a CD for the customer immediately after the job. :D

Ron is right about the little screen.....I know what I am looking at on that little screen but it is usually too small for the untrained eye to really see how bad the grease it.....sometimes if the photos are dramatic enough when I am bidding I put them onto the lap top and show them to the potential client right then and there.....it works well.

I do what chris I think mentioned. After every job we return to get payed the next day or week LOL we provide a free CD with the burned images on the CD of the before and after. All the pictures with the info under picture explaining process. It is always good because most forget how bad things were after you are all done. Then they may also show others the CD like friends and co-workers. Help establish you name with others. Also print a label on the front of CD with your company name and where you can be reached at.

when cleaning a stainless hood does anyone polish the hood with stainless polish after it is cleaned to remove water spots

Only if I have to. Polish takes time

Most companys have no media to view the cds. I.T. folks take the media software off so they cannot watch porn. or other movies.

Depends on how much the customer is paying and what they expect. When I quote a price I tell them to polish/shit shine it takes more time and will cost more, some say yes and some say no. I found that WD40 works very well at removing water stains as well as a white film thats left behind sometimes. Usually the hoods that are clean before you start want to be polished(most of the times they are the owners.) Dirty hoods that arent taken care of, usually dont, most of the time they are non-owners/managers.

I think we've discussed the flamability of thinga like wd-40 and kerosene on this board before, and how it shouldn't be used in a hood.

Sheila Shine has been the best stainless polish I've found. Zep makes a furniture polish that is supposed to work well on stainless, my guys in Kansas City swear by it, but I haven't tried it yet.

I'm the same with the extra charge. It takes more work to polish, so it's priced separately at the bidding time.

Deisel works in a pinch, but can leave a streaks or a haze. Be sure to leave the fan on and remember it is flammable.
