Should i buy a ball valve to adjust pressure, i do not own a surface cleaner i was going to buy it just for lowering pressure purpose. I understand that your not supposed to mess with the unloader to adjust pressure, so if you guys are doing an awning and need little pressure what do you do to get low pressure? nozzles? hold the wand away a little further? same thing with dec cleaning how do you get that low pressure desired?

i have a j rod with 4 nozzels soap high soap low rinse high rinse low...but even the rinse low seems like a lot of pressure

Adjusting pressure with a ball valve is not a real good idea, nozzles are your best bet, I don't know your gpm but I would guess the 40 puts you down around 500 psi. You can always remove the injector or take the line out of the bucket to use that tip for rinsing. If the #10 is too high try a 15 or 20 to get the psi you want. Here is a link to a nozzle chart to determine which size would be best for you application.

There should not be any pressure put on awnings. Soap with low pressure then brush, and rinse with soap tip. Just my 2 cents

I use a ball valve all the time for rinsing, it's one of my most important tools.

yes that is my point, i want to use my power washer as a water source but i want pressure equal to a garden hose to rinse off chemicals
on an awning...so how do i obtain that low of pressure with a balll valve?

just use the ball valve with no wand attached.

We have a winner!!!

I use mine this way all the time for quick rinse downs and especially in tight areas. We also use this method for rinsing down exterior walls and landscaping when Cleaning Roofs.
