A while back I got a trial membership to the NFIB (national federation of independent businesses) www.nfib.com

While I had no interest in joining their organization, I found their magazine to be one of the most useful business magazines I've ever read.

They have it online too...........and I think they even archive the old ones

Seems awesome, but...

Wow! Did you check out their advertising rates? A 1/6 page B&W at over $10,000 an issue? At the bi-monthly frequency thats over $60,000 a year for only 6 issues!

That is some serious cheese for a "Small" business to put in one basket. With a circulation of 550,000 that comes out to $18.18 a thousand for their smallest black & white ad!

Maybe Coca-Cola or AT&T count as small businesses now...
 
keep in mind, its READ by small businesses...........doesnt mean the advertisers are small businesses.

I guess a small business buys from a big business therefore squeezing out the other small businesses. Hmmm....


Mind you, I know this isn't the point of your post, I was just a bit shocked when I saw the rate card. 'Nuff said!
