As a window cleaner how valuable is....?

I did my first window job today. I bought my stuff from home depot but its going back. junk. I did both sides. I stopped at my eye glass place and they said they pay $22 dollars for their windows. Thats 4 dollars per pane. each one about 5x8. She said he only does the outside. I was gonna charge 6 per pane and include inside also. Is the inside a usual practice?

Not as a rule. If you do the job ask occasionally about the ins and charge a couple bucks more per pane then.

Thank you, I picked up a bank also. I went up a couple of bucks because of all the shrubs in front, and then doubled the price for the insides also. They requested the inside every 6 months and the outs every 3. Is it better to have a squeegee with the wash brush built on it or use a separate tool for that?

I'd estimate a third of my commercial accounts are in and out. A lot of guys prefer to do just outsides. Less money, but usually far higher profit. Some, like me, will do insides. It can be a pain, but it increases the 'wow factor' and makes for a full-service company in that respect.

I'm with Tony on the tools. Separate is fine and really more versatile, especially if you use quick-release squeegee handles to change channel sizes when needed. Also a swivel handle will help with weird angles you may encounter.

I picked up another bank today, I was 40 dollars higher per visit but I had offered to polish the stainless steel at the drive thru windows and make sure the sills were cleaned off. They said my price was fine as long as the bank looks good. I now have the option of picking up the third branch in the area. Windows and pressure washing washing. 3
3 total. I did buy a pole, and have been watching the videos here.

LOL I just talk to people and keep the conversation going. I love talking to people, if you keep focused on their needs, They will open up to you. Its actually enjoyable.

Couldnt agree with you more john, great job landing more commercial accounts!

I did the bank I picked up with my cheap squeegee/mop combo. Pure junk. The rubber kept sliding off a bit and the mop was dripping all over. I will be shopping for better quality tools this weekend. It must have been funny to watch me, I had to wipe the squeegee on every pass because of its design it was holding water. I was practicing my feathering ( if that's what you call it ) did pretty good, just slow of coarse. I am gonna market the local plazas trying to get them for the same day. Are there any tips or any thing I can say or do to make myself stand out above my competition?

Sell yourself and don't talk about your competition. Negative advertising comes back to bite you in the end. Remember you won't sell every job and quite likely won't want to work for every potential customer you come across. It seems you are already having good success so I'd just keep doing what you are doing.

I would also become 'recognizable'. wear the same outfit as much as possible, wear a smile even if the biz owner doesn't make you smile inside! Make sure they get a card of some easy way to look you up no matter how unlikely it seems they'll use you.
