Article by Doc

I was really digging that article, right up to the last few paragraphs. It turned from a great subjective educational piece in to a promotion for Facilitec. I think Jester said it best: "That was some of the best flying I've seen yet...right up to the part where you got killed."

If the whole point is to further the entire industry and "bring it to the next level" then why stick your companies name in there? I thought that upyourstack.com was supposed to be an educational website. That was an article that could be sent out to AHJ's in anyones area but who would send that out with the Facilitec website at the end?

That article didn't seem to have been written by Doc-It just doen't sound like him. Sounds like a PR company. I could be wrong-not the first time.

So far I am unimpressed with Up Your Stack. Just like we've seen a hundred time from those with articles included, mask it as benefiting the industry while it's in reality only feeding the monster. Kinda like a Chinese hood, looks good until you pull a filter.

Yes, but Doc cannot advertise like our beloved Rusty Ace.

Weapons of Mass Deception

That is a great sales pitch.

Article

Appreciate the words about the article I wrote for UYS. To comment about the last segment of the article talking about Facilitec, this was a request by UYS which was intended to help give further credibility to the information.

Anytime I read anything, I ask who wrote this and what makes them an expert on the topic being written about.

As we all know it is not just about Facilitec it is about the industry and creating awareness.

"The author, M.D. “Doc” Reisman is the Director of Education and Training for Facilitec-USA, a nationwide firm of professional restaurant and foodservice exhaust cleaners. Doc is the Past-President of PWNA, the Power Washers of North America."

This gives plenty of crediibility and any educational article always contains something like this. I definately feel a couple of lines like this are necessary.

"Our company follows this model of a systematic program of education and advancement. It has a process in place to develop its employees through a formal internal education system and uses an external third party certification program.

Third party certification plays an important role in this process. We have implemented the Phil Ackland Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Certification Program. Our company looks at the training / certification programs as one more tool to enhance our technician’s knowledge and understanding of code. It also builds pride and confidence in the employees leading to a higher level of service and identification of fire safety. Ultimately, we exceed any expectations an authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) might have. This includes fire safety inspectors and environmental health inspectors. It also includes insurance companies that require either certification or licenses involving kitchen exhaust cleaning.

Safety and education are values shared by all employees of Facilitec-USA. Our company demonstrates their commitment by having both a Director of Risk/ Loss Control and a Director of Training and Education. http://www.facilitec-usa.com"

This is just flat out promotion. Either you misinterpreted what he was asking you to do, or it planned that way. Either way it isn't right, not on an "educational" website which is what they claim to be. The worst part is there is actually a lot of educational material on the site.

"As we all know it is not just about Facilitec it is about the industry and creating awareness."

Then stop stealing my accounts!!!!!

Hey Matt You should call them and tell them you want to do an article on say - proper code filters for hood systems.

Get yourself some equal screen time?

And here we are talking about giving banners to only moderators on this board.
I knew it was a matter of time before this site caved in also.

I wish that wasn't true. The last one they got from me cost me $20k a year. It was a "corporate decision" we were told, gee that makes me feel so much better. Beleive me I would team up with him if possible, I can be easily assimilated for the right amount of $$$$$. The only way Grant is going out of business if from a big national guy like Facilitec, nobody in LA can compete with them, thats for sure.
