Empty Words, Wounded Officers

The politics of Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris and Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon did nothing for the Pinal County Deputy shot by an illegal alien on the afternoon of April 30, 2010. In the face of illegal immigration, the rhetoric and race-baiting of politicians offers no protection from the bullets, danger, and crime which brutalize Arizona law enforcement.

Hours after Harris pontificated from a safe police building, and a day after Gordon had a “super time” with a girly pop star, the real and dangerous world of illegal immigration overpowers the straw man arguments against SB1070. There’s a reason why rank-and-file officers support SB1070. While Chief Harris pleads confusion, front-line troops apply common sense. The tool provided by SB1070 is proactive discretionary contact with ICE. No racial profiling. No forfeiture of rights. Just protection for our communities and cops from the crime of illegal immigration. Words from Harris and Gordon do nothing, but the principles of SB1070 will save lives, solve problems, and solidify the rule of law.

It's a shame the locals have been forced into doing the feds job but illegal immigration is out of control.

You can walk into a store in phx shoplift and leave and police will not be responding. Report over the phone. Dont tell crooks this..LOL

This Law is ok, I'll live with it but it was not needed.

Wait till Jim gets pulled over with the two guys in the backseat on the way to a job and hes detained for 3 hours. Make sure you pay the workers because labor laws say you have too. LOL

My guys get stopped regular by JOE, ICE and INS. Going to Tucson we send White guys. Yes we have to discriminate on who we send. Between Casegrande and Tucson there are road blocks. If I send DOC workers its and extra three hours often.

We need to spend time on drug dealers stealing and dealing drugs.

The only people making an issue of the enforcement of ALL the laws are either illegal invaders or those who employ illegal invaders. Has nothing to do with race, but has everything to do with the erosion of an American Citizens ability to make a living in a blue collar profession. Socialism is destroying America.

Any other Country on this planet that acknowledges it's borders are being violated upwards of 10,000 each and everyday define this simply as an act of war.

Jim, if you where brown and someone didnt hire you because of the hassles involved would you be as happy? NO

This is not about anything but BS.

We dont need more laws, Joe is doing fine with how he handles this. We do not need our police or military checking general population for papers.

All the money spent could employ more Border patrol and build fences.

Jim, Please stop the accusation the only people who care are people using un-documented workers. Jim all my employees are legal and all are citizens of this great country. Three are vets. that are latino, they are not happy with my choice to avoid sending them to border towns. This has cost them money, reality is I could get sued just because I will not allow them to travel for the hassels.

I washed Joes hotel and do work for MSCO . I wash Border patrol Casagrande and tucson locations.

I dont hate law inforcement or the laws. I hate the messing with my personal rights to put criminal and other behind bars or deport.
 
All we did in Arizona by adopting SB1070 is give teeth to a federal law.
 
No, al we did is give local police the power to enforce federal law.

Nevada representatives are calling for a special session to enact the exact same law as Arizona. If nothing else maybe San Francisco and LA will boycut us too and keep their A**es out of our state business!
 
The illegal alien situation in AZ is insane. People who dont have issues with their visas or greencards have nothing to worry about. There isnt enough federal enforcement to deal with this nonsense. Your parents raised you and I know for a fact you were blessed by being born into a family of entrepreneurs who provided for their family.

What if my parents were poor and didn't have enough ingenuity or ambition to prepare me for sucess.

Why don't I just move into your house?

As a matter of fact all this stuff about workers comp and taxes is distressing to my son Chris and his wife with two kids to support. I think I'll just send him down to your house to live with you. After all, he just wants to make a living and be able to work! Of course, he won't work for YOU, he will only work for spending money for himself.

And while you are at it, could you pay for their medical insurance and fill their refrigerator up each week.

I tell you what. I'm not even going to ask permission. They are going to sneak over your fence tonight and move their stuff into your spare bedroom. You don't have a choice. You have to take them. It's the only humane thing to do. Chris only wants to provide for his family.

Regarding the Arizona law - Ron, please, if I don't want to spend 30 minutes standing around dealing with the cops over who I am, I simply carry my drivers license. (I also know the language of the country I call my home AND I carry insurance on my vehicle.) What's so bad about carrying STATE required identification if you LOOK like every other ILLEGAL immigrant?

I don't hear you raising hell at every airport because you have to take your shoes off. Where's the outrage in that?

All this whining about "profiling" is just a way to try to take the heat away from the illegals that have been allowed to have their way in exchange for the hispanic votes for democrats.

You know that Ron. I think you just don't want to have to pay some of your legal guys that 10 minutes worth of time they will lose while showing their driver's licenses.

What a mess. But not to lose perspective, 'who' is it that takes our money (read steals under threat) and gives it to someone else? Really, No 'illegal' took that money that paid for the health care or school or whatever. Tony, the analogy about Rons house while funny, isn't really accurate without the third party 'muscle' thats robbing Ron and then moving them in, paying for insurance, food etc. So I say a real solution has to be ELIMINATION of unlawful, immoral and incredibly harmful govt - Health care - School - Assistance etc etc etc - Bingo! no 'illegals will be getting any of your money if its not there!

Now about jobs - No income tax for any American - only foreigners pay income tax, a fee for working here - Pow! problemo solved. Hey, if throwing a little of your own money back at you is a stimulus, just imagine having it all to spend.
 
You hit the nail on the head. The only reason "freebies" are given out is to buy votes.

There's really only a couple of ways to go about fixing this. The first way is term limits combined with public sector limits.

Two terms in office is not very enticing to the con artist. It's simply not enough time to become entrenched in the system to do his dirty magic.

Public service used to be a profession where successful people stepped down from their position of success to take time out to help their country. Now people go to college to major in sucking the public teat for life.

Part of the answer to break down the system that is killing our country is two terms at the federal level - period. That would eliminate our electing long term professional politicians for president who don't know a thing about the private sector or working a job or running a business.

Of course each state can do what they want to do, but limiting their terms to two in each sector (local and state) would give these con artists precious little time to do their damage.

The result would be politicians who know their time is short and use that time to get things done rather than scheme on how to get elected again.

That would be a starting point.

I like it. The federal income tax on citizens is illegal anyway. But try telling these moronic politicians that. They don't even care about he constitution nor have any idea what it says.

Most people in this country don't pay any income tax.

Chris and Jill are just about to take on a 10k/mo account. I told them that after expenses they need to put aside $1k/month for taxes and they just about freaked out! If everyone had to take and write a separate check to the government each quarter we would have a revolution in this country.
