I have a John Deere machine with the 13hp honda GX390. I bought it used, but looked damn near new. I've washed maybe 15 houses with it and the pump died for no apparent reason. I don't use a self contained water tank. Sometimes I run a splitter off the house water and run two machines. So I figured it was the house water no producing. Went to next job and hooked it up direct to house water and still same thing.
Before it died the pump was kinda going in and out and sputtering. Then it started working again for about another 5 minutes. Now it has maybe 20% and is unusable. I'm not sure if the AR 4g40b is worth fixing, been looking at new pumps online like Cats, General EZ4040 ($300 online) or just buy a better version of the AR 4g40 ($259 online) -- (the JD AR pump looks wimpy to me)
If I do replace the pump with a different brand, I'd like a direct bolt on kit.
