I have a delavan pump and use the poly braided hose from pressuretek to apply chemicals. I am looking for a hose that works well in cold weather. I am also wondering what if 5/8" is better or should it be smaller. Thanks
 
i use 5/8 and it works fine
 
I do like the 5/8", my only real concern is that in cold weather the poly braided hose is a real pain in the neck. I think that I will buy some of the red goodyear hose. Does anyone know how it performs in cold weather.
 
Any kind of rubber hose should work fine in the winter. The vinyl hose gets hard and its a pita to work with and if your not careful, it could crack.
Bigger hose allows for more flow. But 1/2" is still plenty good.
 
Rob, just a word from the wise. In my experience (and I am no expert) I have found the easiest hose to handle in cold weather is rubber hose, not vinyl like most garden hoses. I use goodyear 5/8 rubber hose. It is not too expensive either, go to home depot and get the red goodyear "hot water" 5/8 hose it is about 30.00 per 50 foot section. I use 200 feet of it but I replace the brass couplers and join the hoses with poly hose repair kits. This way you dont worry about washers and leaks.
 
Well I purchased 150' of hose 5/8". I am redoing the plumbing on my trailer also. I have decided to put an air hose fitting in the loop so that I can blow the system out in the evenings to prevent freezing. Thanks for the help
 
Haha! I was just thinking. (I do that sometimes) We have got to be the only people on earth, and I include me when I say we, who get excited over new hoses. LOL...I'm with Russ, Lets see what ya got. (Ooops! That don't sound right. :rolleyes: )
 
Ya know you might be a PW'er when someone talks about a common rubber hose from HD for the uptenth time and you still want to see pics.....Got to love it...
 
I am passing out a lot of flyers today because it is rainy. I will try and take pics tonight. I have 2 jobs tomorrow so we will try it out.
