I have been ask to bid on an apartment complex. They have received three bids so far. I drove there today just to look. This will be my first bid on something like this. All building exteriors, gutters, breezeways sidewalks. When bidding the concrete will they accept a sq.ft. price (.08) or do you have to get a total of all the concrete and get a total price? what about the .08.
For the experts. I admire you. Many bldgs. many sizes. Much traffic.

I would get out and measure all the concrete and give them the price for the whole area. In your bid you can detail the total area and give your total price. You could include your price/sq.ft. with this, but at the end of the day, they will probably be looking at total price - make it easy for them by giving them what they want... the price. Then sell on why they should choose you and your price.

we just got the approval on several different communities Andy, All in or around colleges (none in T-town) hahaha one in Auburn though, we are coordinating tham with students being away for summer break, gonna be busy for a cpl of weeks.

It is a hassle, you really need multiple machines to get in and get out quickly or you are going to run into problems with traffic and people coming and going.

Price only.Keep it simple.I would also factor in a pita factor too.There will be a lot of stuff you will have to work around.Cars,people,etc.

We have bided on complexes and gotten a few. They seem to like to get a price per apartment. That is how most of them budget the work.

You are always busy. If I dont bid it I will never learn. I may bid it high just to show I'm interested. Did you do Sam's in T-Town ?

Sq Ft but give them the total cost. We usually price per building, if its a large project, more machines and workers the better. get in and get out.

I'll do the job for an extra pair of season tickets. All my extra Tide tickets have been sold and I'm looking for more. Can't wait for the Virginia Tech game!!! RTR
