Someone locally is selling hot water pressure washers made by Elite and Largo. Anyone heard of them? How about a Lander water cleaner?

yes I have ran a Elite, did for several years, good powerwashers.I think at one time they made the RK21 for Delco, not really sure on this but think so

I have heard of landa and elite, but have not heard of largo,

Go figure!!!!

Matt

Well, I've heard of all three.

Both of my Delco machines were made by Elite, however they are no longer in business (Elite) from what I understand.

Landa's are great machines...........usually pricey, but very good.

Largo I don't know all that much about except a friend of mine had one a couple years ago, he seemed to be happy with it.

>>>>>>>>>> LARGO same as MSI .............. mobile systems inc. Tenn. usa

the best Pressure washer out there >>>>>>> Largo

had one for 2 years now and never broke down yet ..... well an unloader .. check-valves ..........
do your homework and check out the largo's

Word on the street was that all three brands are now owned by one large company (not any of the three original firms).

Elite was at one time known as Ex-Cell but went bankrupt several years ago because they were selling low cost/quality cold-water pressure washers to big box retailers. DeVilbiss Air Power, the consumer division of air compressor manufacturer DeVilbiss bought the remaining chattels and now supplies the same customers with the same products. DeVilbiss sold the division to a large conglomerate and (IMHO) had to change their name to DevAir to separate themselves from the image being portrayed by DeVilbiss Air Power. Some of the managers from Elite formed XL Manufacturing which morphed into Elite later. They followed the same low price policy and again ceased operations last year. They were building some of the units that Delco of Fort Worth used to sell, these units have been replaced by those manufactured for them by Ramteq.

Landa is one of the oldest pressure washer manufacturers in the US. It was started by Larry Loftus and grew to become one of the largest builders in the country, they are located in Camas, Washington. A few years ago Landa was sold to a unit of The Harbour Group under Greg Fox (a son-in-law of the owner). In the interim they have added, Rhino, Specialty, ASAP, Hotsy, Cuda, Hawk pumps, Tuff, Spraymart, Admiral Pump USA, Victor-Midland and I believe Bertolini. Under the group they are one of the largest pressure washer manufacturers in the world offering a wide assortment of quality and products. They range from no certifications to UL-1776 certified products.

Largo is a small regional player located Decaturville, TN. It appears there is some connection between them and the old L & A two-step pressure washers. They have a limited offering and contrary to any claims made on their internet site, have no better products than most other manufacturers. Again, IMHO, if they were as they claim then why are they not safety certified by an accredited third party to some form of recognized standard?

Truth be told, the dealer is of more value than the product. A local professional pressure washer delaer can your greatest asset. They have the knowledge, experience and technical support to keep you working. Decide on a dealer first and the product second. No one ever complained about spending more for a better product.

Hope this helps? Cheers.

i love my LARGO

If i have a question they put the guy who built it on the phone with me.
They use an unloader that costs less then a trigger gun. $17
only beef i have is they need a better way to adj the belts and add a oil drain hose to the pump.
I wish they had bigger fuel tanks.
At $3077.00 you cant beat them.

To my knowledge, a Process Safety Study and Certification does not have to be made by an independent 3rd party in the US.
It can be completed signed and stamped by the companies own or a contracted (licensed) engineer.
I believe the standards in the US are set by OSHA (both for Federal and State).

I will disagree on the product being second to any dealer, albeit a good dealer should steer you toward good quality product(s) at reasonable prices.
I always look for a good product first then a decent dealer I can purchase from. (My opinion.)

the same co. makes landa, elite, rhino, sting ray,tuff,ect...but with diffrent parts and quality's. They will build you a line of wash units to your spec if you order enuff of them.

Thanks a bunch for the information. Actually, I screwed up by including Landa on the post (must have had them on my mind). Feel much better about picking up the other two (Elite and Largo) as a result of the very informative posts!

Michael,

History wise Landa started in Portland Oregon. I realize you mean now, I remember when it was family owned and operated. It was a different company.

Chris the company that owns Landa owns many different companies now. The name is c-tech….

They own Tuff, shark, landa and about three others, maybe they are elite? I don’t think they even exist anymore.
Someone wants to know here the number 800-547-8672

Largo again!

I've used my Largo for many hours and applications in the last two years and haven't had one problem. I can say nothing but good for this company, and my next machine will be a Largo also. Scott of McConahy Contract Cleaners

Ever heard of Epps
